A creature of Spherus Magna, the Lightning Drak is one of a family of feathered reptilian predators called draks that dominate the large lands of the Ouscurii Plains, east of the Element Tribes’ region of Octerra.
Standing only as tall as the average Agori, the lightning drak is known and named for its unique bioelectricity drawn from atmospheric ions and charged into its talons, with which it strikes prey often many times larger than it.
While charging, crystalline structures on its talons and spine take on a stunning blue luminescence. Its attack while diving down at blazing speeds, discharging its electricity on contact, leaves a characteristic lightning like flash streaking through the sky, as the charged strike itself has been known to pierce bone, metal, armors, and occasionally even the exoskeleton of the mighty skopio.
The lightning drak, capable of both diving from the skies and sprinting on ground, has developed a fearsome reputation among the Magnan populations of the east as well as the west as a symbol of power, an apex predator, and even as a spiritual protector. As it has been known to unintentionally ward off far larger predators in the path of Glatorian and Agori in its domain.
