hi there everybody im gonna start of this post by just giving some info about my moc, this was intended to be a version of makuta before or just at the start of his descent into darkness (hence no kraakahn as this was a time before he had donned the mask), i wanted to make him appear bright and as though he had not succumbed to his deranged sense of duty and had not spent time being corroded and degraded.
so onto the moc itself after a bit of concept maguffins,
next to tahu he appears fairly menacing although not completely malevolent
instead of wings he has a tattered cape damaged by embers from mask forges and rahi creation (i like to think over the years this became his wings)
under the cape he still has some decent shaping to his back
now onto one of my favourite yet least liked parts of the moc, the head. as i said in my intro i wanted to have this makuta be pre-kraahkan and to do that he needed a custom head. overall i like how the shaping worked out but i feel its just too big over all but i wanted to keep some of the shapes from the kraahkan to come through since the mask would later fuse to this head.
this is the best angle for it and at this angle i just love how it turned out
so now onto the torso, i took some cues from the maxilos robot set with the pistons but tried to keep the makuta aesthetic in tact and i feel i succeeded while gaining a decent amount of articulation including left, right, back, forward and also a decent range of swivel.
he even holds a kraata like in the film and set albeit upside down.
another thing i felt like i needed to get right were the legs, although i feel like the digit-grade legs would have been a byproduct of the corruption i wanted to include them because i love that style of leg and wanted to take a stab at it.
the onset of corruption has caused his once toa like normal hands into clawed hook fingers made for removing masks and bio organics.
thanks for looking at my post and i hope you enjoy my moc as it is the first bionicle moc i have made in an incredibly long time. please leave feedback and anything you liked about the moc as a whole.
