Something I love about MOCs is how they can inspire other people and their builds–Don’t be afraid to look up some inspiration and take notes from other builders or even existing Lego sets!

On an ancient, inhospitable world, a lone soldier, the last survivor of his company, fights on against hordes of restless dead, brought back to a perverted parody of life by the planet’s ancient curse. This is my contribution to the Ice and Fire challenge by @StarBreaker. No clue if I’m, like, the only person who’s going to enter or not, but either way this was a blast to build. Inspiration for this MOC ended up coming from the metric ton of Warhammer 40k miniature painting tutorials I’ve been watching recently. The 40k world really fascinates me, the game less so, but that’s besides the point. The Burning Ice (challenge: Fire and ice)

When I think of Fire and Ice, the first thing I think of is… A Song of Ice and Fire. But the second thing I think of is those melded red pieces Krika and the Blade Tittan had. So I decided to use as many of the mixed white/red pieces I have, so all but Pridak’s head. [grukko 1] The Grukko, better known as the Burning Ice, are a bizarre species presumed to be Rahi, rarely seen around the realm of Karzahni. Some say that Karzahni himself made them, similar to how his wife Artakha made the Crystal Serpents. [grukko 2] The Burning Ice are made of the strange searing hot ice that rains from the volcanoes, and their bodies are usually burning, making them a truly bizarre sight to behold. If you don’t have time to watch all 25 minutes, he talks about the next and upcoming challenges at around the 20 minute mark. Congrats to everyone who entered, and thank you @StarBreaker for organizing this. It’s some of the most enjoyment I’ve had out of LEGO in a solid amount of time.
