My Self-Moc (WIP)

As the title says, this is my Self-Moc. He doesn’t have a name yet, he’s just a Toa.

The sword

What I plan to do:
-The golden Mask of Earth will be replaced with a black one
-The mask will be painted white (or black, dunno)

Nice! I really like the colour scheme here. It’s well balanced and it’s not often you see dark red as a highlight. The build is pretty consistent and cool looking too.

I don’t know if the mask would look better in black or white, or as it is now. Toa can just have the mask gold after all.

I think the weakest aspect of the MOC is the sword. With no handguard of any kind, it’s more like a big knife, and the two sides of it being different shapes doesn’t look great either.

This looks fantastically, gloriously, schnazzily, beautiful.

i really like how the mask looks here. the gold just fits for some reason

I absolutely love this.

I really like this!

personally I would do the opposite, I think having some gold adds to the design.

Looking good, can’t wait for the finished product.

Looks great, the build is sleek and eye catching and the colors balance each other out well.

@Cyclopian @Toatrex @Ghosty @Hafynx @Poaki @Stoax Thank you all very much for the positive feedback

@Gringat I’m glad you like it, as this is my first moc which uses greebles.
About the “big knife”: I was going for a more “kopaka blade” look, imho giving it an handguard would ruin it, About the two sides being different, I suppose you are talking about the big system piece, I’ll see what I can do.

@Payinku In all honesty I think I will only keep the dark gold Great Hau. I’m not that good at working with more than three colors

To @Hawkflight. I know you’re here. I need your critique

Heh

I’ve reached that point, haven’t I

The color scheme is definitely what sells this MOC for me. Black base, blocked white parts, red/gold accents. Looks rather animesque to me, in a good way. Legs look pretty solid, Arms work out. The chest looks a bit big on him (if this is intended to be a male MOC. If not, the size is alright but you need to add some height to the neck.)

To be honest, I think if you took out the new gold Onua helmet and reworked the chest some, this would be a very solid MOC. If you want to go further beyond, what you could do is rearrange some of the pieces on him so that the textures flow better together.

He lurks in the shadows, hidden behind the posts, waiting for the right moment. The moment to strike, to destroy your MOCs…

jk

Yep, he’s supposed to be a male MOC. About the neck, the connector piece is in the exact same place as it is in a standard inika build, probably the fact that I like to pose my MOCs with their eyes looking down makes it look a bit short, dunno, but I’ll look what I can do.
Edit: Whops, I got it wrong, you mean the neck would look short if this was a feMOC. My mistake

The new gold Onua helmet will be replaced with a black one.

The textures are honestly what bugs me the most, to make technic and ccbs shells flow in a good way is pretty difficult, but I hope I’ve made a good job.

And yes, you got it right. He is definitely supposed to look animesque, in fact he is inspired by these guys here

looking at it again, I definitely see the Bell inspiration.

though now I wish the shoulder armor was white

How does Porangi sound?

This looks great, though I don’t quite get the chest.

Hmmm… do you know of BobTheDoctor27?

Very nice MOC. I love the colors and the overall flow.

Familiar shoulder armor is familiar. It is nice to see someone else implementing them on a MOC. As a whole, I really like this guy. You did a good job! Just switch that gold Mask of Earth with a black (as you intend) and I would see little wrong with this MOC.

@Lord_Tuma Thanks for the feedback. About the name, I would prefer something ending with a consonant but thank you anyway.

@Windfall Yes, I do. Sometimes I look up to his Custom Bionicle Wiki page to get some inspiration. Why do you ask?

@Triple Thank you, I’m glad you like it.

@MSEP Thank you for the positive feedback. Fun fact: I used to come up with this shoulder design like a few days before you posted Ryyleem, then I saw your MOC and I immediatly thought “Great, now I have to give him credit…”

Fun fact, every MOC that uses Roborider heads in the shins is now copyrighted by BTD.

Including Ekorak’s.
