Hi everyone!
My next Rahi in the BIONICLE 25 project I’m working through are the fearsome Nui-Rama. Unlike some of the other 2001 Rahi sets, the Nui-Rama look very much as insectoid as the creatures they represent. This means that my revamp, while still very different from the original in several regards, is closer to the source material than my Muaka and Kane-Ra.
Though I cannot post a video of it here, my rendition has a working gear function allowing the wings to flap forwards and backwards with great range of motion. It relies on a trigger mechanism and makes use of a technic gear rack.
One of the few areas of deviation from the original was the decision to give each Rama an extra set of arms, which makes them a bit more menacing and also a lot more fun to pose! Of all the Rahi, I think the Nui-Rama look the best with the original translucent original Kanohi Ruru, but in this project, I have decided to stick with lore-accurate infected Kanohi, though I did include one shot with original, as they look too cool not to!
I intend to do the Nui-Kopen in the near future.

I love the use of the roborider launcher as the stinger, it gives it a great new shape while sticking to official parts
These things are both seriously intimidating too, its a great overall build. Keep up the great work!

Absolutely amazing revamps! I love the blend of G1 and CCBS pieces that somehow doesn’t compromise the 2001 aesthetic of those sets. The use of the robo rider wheel holders as stingers is also very clever! I’ve always wondered about how to use those parts but here they almost look like they were designed for this very purpose, and they fit right at home aesthetically.

@LegoDavid Thanks a lot! I have always been of the opinion that, if done right, CCBS can meld with the G1 aesthetic, so I am glad that came through here. I’m even more pleased, though, about the positive feedback on the Roborider launcher! It’s such a specialized piece, but something inspired me to try it out as a stinger, and the rest is history. I love these! Super respectful to the original and they keep the bionicle aesthetic but they have their own flair.
