I have seen many people calling the villagers of okoto “okotan” but I think I read somewhere they were called “okotoan” and there is another term for them “okotoran” but that one does not count since it was created on the boards
The only version used officially was “okotan”.
May have been a typo.
Where was that term used?
Bionicle.com, I think.
I think we know it’s Okotans.
The Journey to One.
For the record, the books used “Okotoan”.
I’m pretty sure it’s Okotan.
Well theres like 3 different things fighting for canon, the books, JTO, and bionicle.com itself. Ima just say its okotan cause that means I wasn’t wrong.
That is canon.
######I’m fed with the grammar mistakes, but oh well no one is perfect…
I need to highlight this, I’m basically viewing JtO as canon, but that’s just me. Other variations I approve, but you’ll see Okotan from me.
Alos, Edited the title for capitalization. -DG_Eddie
Sorry its early
Same, because THEY PRONOUNCE LEWA’S NAME RIGHT (im sorry)
Thanks for the correction
Me too, Lewa is (I am viewing this from my point, that can be false…) pronounced Lee-wah JtO FTW
I personally use the term, “Okotian”. Okotoran doesn’t have a very nice ring to it, not something you could easily use. It could just be I put emphasis on the -an for some reason.
I am going with Okotan since that was audibly used in Bionicle JTO. For me, there are no If, ands, or buts about it at this point.
Okotoks
I’m pretty sure it was okotoan
It’s Okotan.
It’s said in JtO, and I’m taking LEGO’s visual media as more canon than the written media because most likely the script came from LEGO itself, as opposed to an independent writer.
Okotoran isn’t even a real thing, that’s more of a fan thing.
well I kind of said that that one doesn’t count, and I hate the official term, okotan sounds bad, I hate it
How? its like matoran but okotan, both sound similar like if its the same species from a different place.
While I was one of the first members to say “okotoran” in a daily basis I have grown to like the term Okotan (canon btw, as seen in JTO) however, while I like the new term I feel like there is something off about it, not sure what though.
Regardless, I feel like Okotanwas a nice name for the writers to choose, and while Okotoran would have sounded more like matoran it would have been longer and imo kind of cluttered compared to Okotan.
I’m pretty sure “Okotoan” is an adjective, used to describe things, and “Okotan” is the name of the villager/islander/peoples.
