Someone’s trying to sell this MOC. The design does look decent but they’re holding it on every single picture since it’s too top heavy to stand on its own. That huge sword is obviously too heavy as well, but all those black sockets are a delightful sight…
why does it look like Sepiroth
*Sephiroth
Why would someone make an edgelord oc and then try to flip it for cash instead of keep it
And if you do need to sell your collection you definitely don’t sell custom models in piecemeal fashion, you sell it as a bulk lot or several bulk lots
Just checked out their profile, they have 3 more listings of the same style. Decent designs, but way overpriced.
That Panthar MOC actually looks rather interesting to me.
While I was at it, I also came across a different seller who’s also trying to sell some MOCs (and stock standard sets) online, with some extreme keyword spamming:
Who doesn’t love Lhikan, the most famous character in both YuGiOh and DBZ?
kiina please stop bothering stronius
Why is the listing with two characters half the price of the others??
me when I try to get up in the morning fr
Okay, here’s a really weird one. Not Bionicle, but you need to see this.
Let me translate title and a part of the description for you. It’s necessary to understand it.
Title:
Lego vintage church in retro look made of bricks with extreme playwear
description:
Dear Lego friends,
this model was based on the 1957 set. All bricks are purposefully chosen to look extremely played with, have stains, dents and yellowing to create the desirable retro feel. They are practically time witnesses of the many Lego decades and their use in many (not just) children’s hands. Broken bricks and the old hollow design isn’t used though! The roof bricks are ancient and partly bent.
[…]
This model is a unique piece. Feedback on this and other similar projects made of very old, extremely played with bricks was very positive.
[…]
I can’t really imagine why anyone would want this… What are your thoughts?
If that descriptor is true, and the bricks are purposefully yellowed and scuffed to make it look old and abused, then whoever made this is pure evil
old bricks are their most valuable when perfectly pristine; why would you tarnish new pieces to make them feel old for a quick twenty euros?
I don’t think the seller purposefully makes the bricks look old, rather they specifically choose the bricks that already look old.
I imagine they might buy bulk lots of basic bricks from the 60s and 70s, some of which probably still look good but others definitely showing signs of their age. The seller then specifically picks those that look old, to create that “retro look”.
Still weird though, like you said the bricks are most beautiful when they’re in good condition.
From the looks of it, it was made based on a church, and was built using bricks from well before my time (as evidenced by the printed numbers above the door). It actually looks pretty nice to me. The old Lego buildings were neat sets.
Ok, now that does need a wash!
The translation is slightly inaccurate. They specifically chose bricks that already were that old, they did not modify the bricks in any way. It’s just normal aging.
What is that? It looks like if Galidor and Beast Wars Transformers got combined.
Edit: never mind, seeing as it blatantly says Rhinox on the leg.
Came across this bootleg Pahrak (I assume it’s a Bela Invincibility Robot?), I actually find his color rather interesting. A mixture of brown, red and copper, or at least the photo/lighting makes it look like that.
Also found another totally Bionicle figure, this one’s even 2 in 1!
Interesting that the most iconic Transformers character is being billed as part of the less popular franchise. I would have sooner expected Tahu to be listed as a 1 in 1 Transformer
28€ for a complete ROTF Leader Optimus is actually really a good deal
I’d buy that myself if it was in my country
Interesting! The seller also has this other character for the same price. The description for both say that they’re complete and in a good condition.
