Correct I’m the no-fun police. But also, I just feel the sentence splicing takes away the humor of what is genuinely out of context. Otherwise we can take anything mangling of sentences and make it sound bad.
That is to say, there should be a sentence splicing topic instead.

I’d argue that this isn’t true in context of how these sentence fragments are being quoted. It’s not sentence splicing when the quote is merely quoting an unaltered fragment of a sentence (multiple sequential words in one sentence with no words in said sequence being removed, added, or otherwise altered). Sentence splicing/mixing involves modifying the sequence of words used, not cutting a phrase and just using it by itself. They are different, and thus this issue is literally a semantics problem.
