Prototype Combiner Makuta (JTO Makuta) Instruction manual

Hello, creepy crawly skull spiders of the internet, it is I, the RedPandalorian, who presents the fabled instruction manual for G2 MAKUTA! For some reason, I can’t find proper instructions for this guy online, so I made my own.

The reason why I made this manual

Next year, when I save up around $150, I’m going to buy KOs of all the sets I need to build this guy and the mask. Becuase of the large lack of instructions for this guy (IT HAS BEEN 10 YEARS WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS! WHAT THE HECK!) I cooked up some home-made Makuta recipe.

What do you think? Turns out, this guy is stupidly hard to make instructions for, so some steps may be weird to you. That, and the file I was using was submodelled a little strangely. (Credits are at the end of the manual)

Anyhow, enjoy. This manual is for your personal use only.

Very nice. I’ve made my own instructions for him a while ago, but they’re more or less lost to time, as I never uploaded them on the Boards. So it’s convenient to have a publicly accessible set of them to work off of.

Starting off nicely…

I wonder what they were like… And did you painstakenly spend 40 minutes digitally putting that chain together?

I am CONVENIENT!

No? :imp:

I have ways both mysterious and contrived to streamline my time wasting :sunglasses:

erm ahktually it’s the instructions that are convenient :index_pointing_up:

ttv channel made an in-depth video, complete with references from the orginal model. Used it to assemble mine. guess i’m the only true fan here.

@kawaii_kitten

I prefer instruction manuals over videos.

Same. I like videos for stuff like transforming transformers, but for constructing anything, I prefer instructions.

the instructions aren’t perfect, there’s a few times when parts are just left in the air (the shoulders most notably), but overall they were good! i appreciate your contribution to the community

(i like your idea of buying knockoffs and making a makuta from them! so much so that that’s actually what you’re looking at! i intend to start to sell these as a complete kits soon on etsy, just message me if you’d be interested in my first specimen here, or just if you’d be interested down the line!)

Yay!

Ooh, now I didn’t expect I would be THAT inspirational.

As for the Etsy Makuta, I will be purchasing JTO Makuta next year, since I’m saving all my extra money for my self MOC this year. By the time I go about getting my metallic blue protodermis claws on JTO Makuta, it will likely be too late lol. Even then, it is an excellent idea to make JTO Makuta more easily accessible for other Bionicle fans, even through KOs. I will definitely window-shop on your Etsy hehehe.
