Pyrus and the EXOTORAN (pseudo work in progress)

Oh boy I got a lot of photos to upload.

The EXOTORAN sitting down.

Now time for some close ups:

The cockpit without Pyrus.

Yes, that is a Robo riders engine.

YOU READY TO GANKED ON ANOR LONDO STYLE!?!?

This…this is an interesting MOC for me. I started compiling my technic beams and began building. Trouble struck mid way through as I started running out of parts. But I persevered and came out with this mess.

I will be the first one to say that the build of this mech is janky and messy. But I want feedback on it…so yeah.

By the way, “Pseudo work in progress” means while I am satisfied to an extent, this does still need work.

Buckle in guys, I got some explanations to type.

And this does have story behind it. The Matoran you see in the photos is the G1 equivalent of this Okotan. No, this G1 version of Pyrus will not appear in CTK’s TTV CIVIL WAR or Bionicle: Terra Magna. Anyways, this Pyrus was sent to Karzahni for repairs and naturally he had an extended stay. He got fed up with Karzahni and decided to bust his way out. How would he do that? With a mech. He was able to pass this off as “his work” to Karzahni and began scavenging any spare parts he could find. Oddly enough he found a strange engine that didn’t seem to come from anywhere… And believe it or not, Pyrus was able to go toe to toe with Karzahni Iron Man style. He then escapes and eventually runs into my G1 Self MOC.

By the way; if you ask Pyrus about the EXOTORAN, he will say this: It’s bootleged Exo-Toa for Karzahni Matoran with 4 times the fire power.

The two blasters on top are standard rapid fire blasters designed to fire energy volleys, the flamethrower is just that, and the spinning keetongu blade tool acts as an energy blast catcher that redirect blasts back at it’s originator.

Also the side panels for the cockpit can generate a shield the protects the cockpit.

So yeah…tell me what you guys think of the mech. I am very curious. You can also say what you think of this G1 Pyrus. That wouldn’t hurt either.

I like this, but it seems…
Phyrexian…

You tryna 1-up me?

You have succeeded.

Not very good, honestly.

  1. It’s very gappy. There are holes littered throughout this that makes it seem like swiss cheeze.
  2. It’s very barebones. There is pretty much no armor. It’s just a bunch of liftarms cobbled together like sticks.
  3. It looks very awkward. The side view just looks so weird and strange. I get it’s a mech, but the pistons are so far from the body it’s just downright ridiculous.

I really dislike it. It looks absolutely cluttered with liftarms. If you don’t have lots of parts to use on this then don’t make it. Unless it’s a challenge, knowingly understanding it’s not very good but still posting it is unnecessary.

Honestly, this does look pretty cobbled together. Which I guess is what you were going for. I think my largest problem with it is the color distribution. Also, is there some sort of function here?

Pretty much.

I got a pretty good idea.

Yes, yes it is. It just like the Robo riders. push the beams down and the flames launch forward. I might get rid of it in the future if I end finding all my robo riders dust parts.

[/quote] B-but, it’s a FUNCTION!
Also, final score: Function 12.6/10.

You like the function? Either way, I will dismantle it and take it out if all the parts to my robo riders dust reappear. Those things are rare man…

They are? Cool. I’m pretty sure I have all of the parts for “Power” floating around in my parts bin…

I’m pretty sure at least.

You are so lucky.

so many pistons…it must be quite the fun to articulate

Yeah… it is a tad hard to pose. It’s something I have to work on in the future.

I like it.
I may try something similar…

It reminds me of something from the Cool Creations page in the Lego Club magazine from late 2005.
