Revived Bionicle (and general Lego) Parts

The fact that these parts have stuck around so long is pretty cool, but all the recent recolours are even cooler.

This Technic steering part stopped appearing in sets in 2012, after a pretty good run. Then, in 2017, it sprang back to life in a Lego Creator go-kart set (of which I happen to have two copies). Pretty strange case, because the part has seen somewhat regular use since 2017. I wonder why they retired it in the first place, especially considering it’s a very easy way to create a Technic steering system?

That’s… not a Bionicle piece. But to be honest changing this topic to be “revived lego parts” in general would probably be for the best and greatly extend its longevity

welp, another instance of Miney not reading correctly… I bet I could start a compilation topic of every time I’ve done a stupid by not reading. Maybe I need to get off the internet.

A revived Lego parts topic would be nice, though. Then I could just move this post.

With the power of topic renaning, it has been done. I think that’s a really good idea, otherwise this thread would probably just die again.

First thing that comes to my mind is blue torso Max and orange torso Tina (they can’t be disassembled so I say we count them as single pieces).

Both last appeared in a bunch of 2001 Creator sets before being randomly brought back in 2006 for a math educational set.

Now I don’t look like a fool… Bioman holds more power over me than I’d like to admit with the amount of dumb stuff I say in his topics.

Those figures are funky… 2001 is right around the other Jack Stone stuff (yeah these aren’t Jack Stone but same style of figures), but 2006 is a pretty long time away especially for such specialized figures. Though, for Lego Education, I guess it makes sense because those sets always have some unique stuff.

“Quick, what overproduced useless parts can we throw in here?”

But seriously, I see what you mean. Another example that springs to mind is this one which contains Duplo fences (and other Duplo parts) for some reason:

As far as I know, it’s one of very few sets, if not the only set, to contain Duplo parts alongside traditional System parts (not including System sets that use the big plastic “Duplo” ball).

EDIT: It’s not the only set to contain both types of parts, but all the other examples I could find are similarly generic Education kits. Does anyone know of any “traditional” sets (i.e. non-generic sets with a designated build) that use both types of parts?
