That leg with the minifigure hands is clever, gives the leg a nice, patterned look to tie in with the arm.

Botanym was a desperate Toa of Plantlife native to the same region as Sojora, who came to Marridium in hopes of securing his aid to defend her imperiled village. It had seen nonstop raids by vicious mercenaries, and the local Toa were outnumbered and outmatched. Too remote for proper help to arrive in time, Botanym had no choice but to see if the rumors of the mad doctor were true. As it turned out, they were, and the Toa struck a deal with him: Marridium agreed to stop the attacks, but demanded payment in return. In desperation, Botanym accepted, and over the next few days the raiders came less and less frequently, until they came no longer. In secret, Marridium infiltrated their camp by night and slaughtered them personally while they were resting, being so thorough as to take their resources for himself in addition to killing them all, leaving no trace that they had ever existed. The jungle village celebrated, but soon after the pirates were vanquished Botanym disappeared into the forest as well, abducted by Miasma: Marridium fully intended to collect his dues. Now with another Toa finally within his grasp, the mad doctor decided to try an Elemental experiment, having already toyed with Kanohi and Toa Power. To this end, he ran test after test on the unfortunate Botanym, each one worst than the last, the amoral scientist trying to break her spirit and force her to join him all the while. To her credit she never gave in, and so, frustrated, Marridium decided that if he couldn’t twist her mind, her body would have to do. Eventually, he succeeded, Botanym transforming into a monstrous creature that was now far more plant than Toa. Her limbs became vines, her armor took on an arboreal appearance, and she could be forcefully controlled by Marridium, becoming the final member of the Cadre of Eight. Her only consolation was enhanced healing abilities by way of growth and regrowth. The only one of the Cadre who resents her fate, Botanym is constantly looking for a way out, but her search has been in vain… so far.

Nilraya was a jealous Po-Matoran who desparately longed to be a Toa, coveting the power and admiration the noble warriors seemed to gain. The last straw was seeing her friend Johgra being selected by the local Turaga elder, later becoming a genuine Toa of Water and protector of the village. Despite her disregard (read: fear) of the legends of Dr. Marridium, she followed the clues in the stories and succeeded in tracking him down. Nervously, she told him of her “predicament”. He listened intently, and when Nilraya had finished, he told her to gather a Toa Stone for him before they could start the process. Casting aside her doubts and lingering pangs of conscience, she managed to sneak inside the Turaga’s house while they were sleeping, and successfully made off with one of the sacred rocks. Marridium, despite knowing that without Toa Power the stone was merely ordinary, acted satisfied and began the operation, hoping to gain more knowledge on how the Toa transformation worked. Substituting his own dark energies (as well as a special drug to ensure loyalty) for those of a Toa, the experiment was a success - in a manner of speaking. While Nilraya did gain Toa-level size and strength, Kanohi usage was blocked, and strange pink crystals started to painfully consume her body from the inside. While Marridium was able to stop the horrible process before it could reach completion, Nilraya was left with a nightmarish appearance, unnatural, jagged shards of crystal embedded within her armor, and an unalterable loyalty to the mad doctor. She had but one consolation: she was now able to create and control crystals to the same degree of power as the Toa who she had wanted to be for so long.
The Cadre of Eight is officially COMPLETE!
