Ruuyil kept the Order of Mata Nui’s vast library. Whatever the mission–be it surveillance, abduction, or assassination–he wove through the high shelves, plucking intel with his extendable cable-arms. He never let an operative go before supplementing their readings with his advice, solicited or not.
That advice was hard-earned in naiver days, when Ruuyil crusaded for the Great Spirit in Mantax’s army. Although his millennia of service to the Order rarely pulled him from Daxia, he still honed his skills by sparring agents between their deployments.
Yet no sparring prepares a warrior to battle the universe itself. The Makuta thought, then Daxia shattered. Ruuyil died beneath the rubble of his tablets.

Woah! I was not expecting claws on the Proto Pitons–great parts usage! The reversed Bohrok feet, Mata torsos as shoulders, and tubing on the legs are all amazing, and the color scheme is unexpected yet works. Great job!
The shaping on the feet is excellent. Onewa’s weapons being used as the forearms messes with the vibe the rest of the figure has going, unfortunately, giving him emaciated arms while his shoulders and torso are super bulky.
Buff nerds are a rarity, especially in Bionicle. Good job pulling this one off!
Thank you! I’m pretty happy with how the legs came together. Also it took several revisions to make the shoulders strong enough to support his arms. Fortunately the forearms don’t weigh them down very much!

Honestly I wanted his thin arms to clash with the rest of his body, so I’m glad it looks wrong : ) I haven’t thought through this part of his story yet, but I like the idea that Ruuyil was originally a bruiser-type fighter, and he swapped out his forearms with the cables to make the librarian job easier, and to symbolically reject the time he spent in Mantax’s army. But instead of never fighting again, he retrained himself on Daxia to fight differently, in case the Order needed him someday. I guess he literally took up arms for Mata Nui.
I know, I keep repeating Zhyndea, but I have to say, the colors work well, the blue and brown with silver extremities. I just with there could be some color on the arms.
I agree it’d be nice to have some dark blue in the arms around the elbow connection. Maybe some Technic parts around the elbow joint would do the trick.
The shoulders are pretty posable actually, although you might need to fuss with the Rahaga arms to get the shoulder where you want. Here’s an annotated picture:
The arms connect to the torso in two ways: in front with the Hordika necks, and on the side with the Rahaga limbs.
Originally there was only the front connection, which allowed the shoulders to squeeze inward toward the chest and also rotate up and down. The inward squeezing works because of the Hordika neck’s ball joint, and the up-down rotation works because the whole Hordika neck assembly attaches to the torso with LEGO parts 4211865: 2M FRIC. SNAP W/CROSS HOLE into a pin hole, not an axle hole.
But with just that front connection, the arms would droop when raised, so I added the side connection, which doesn’t improve posability but does add stability. The side connection goes through the Metru torso’s shoulder holes. LEGO parts 4113884: 3M CROSSAXLE WITH KNOB is sticking out of the shoulder hole, with the stud end inside the torso, and the axle end exposed. The axle can move in (until the stud bumps up against Ruuyil’s neck) and out (until the stud bumps up against the outer edge of the torso). When the axle moves all the way out, the brown hand in the Rahaga limb assembly is about 1 unit away from the torso, which frees up the shoulder to move a lot, while still supporting the shoulder so it doesn’t droop.
