Yalani yelped and jumped on the counter on all fours, growling before he saw that it was Alice. “O-Oh . . . hi, Alice. Uh . . . sorry.”
Alice just waves kindly and gets something to drink.
Yalani just sat on the counter quietly, embarrassed.
“how cute…” she said, as Oliver struggles not to laugh.
Yalani tries to hide his face behind his tail, whining and blushing.
Alice giggles as she walks off.
Yalani just holds his tail to his chest. “Am I really that cute?”
“you can be,” remarked Oliver.
Yalani’s face turned beet red. “I just killed a giant, I’m not that cute!”
Oliver shrugs.
“Fear me, darn you!” he says, still clutching his tail and sitting on the counter.
“nope.”
“Hmph!”
Oliver laughs softly as he heads to bed.
Yalani hugs his back softly and follows him.
he shifts to Iris and gets in bed.
Yalani gets himself ready and snuggles by her. “Today was fun,” he says simply and sleepily.
“agreed,” she replies tiredly as she rests her head on his chest.
Yalani holds her close, drifting off as he whispers, “I love you . . . not even a giant can stop that . . .”
“what about giant crabs?”
