Salvation: Part II

The dragon dropping put it in range of the Dark Sentinel, which jumps to try and attack faux-Hyperborea.

Zepar tries to dive to follow the automaton.

Split slips the shotgun onto his back and swings his sword at Hyperborea.

The Dark Sentinel successfully jumps onto Hyperborea’s back.

Hyperborea bats the sword aside with her right foreleg, though the blade leaves a shallow cut in her armor.

Split allows the sword to separate into its individual pieces, before sending the pieces hurtling at Hyperborea.

It starts trying to hack at the automaton’s wings, trying to down it.

Zepar tries to get a good shot lined up to hit the construct in the head.

Epsilon keeps examining the screens and device, trying to make heads or tails of it all while waiting for Sprocket.

The blades embed themselves in Hyperborea’s front, with one striking the base of her neck.

The Dark Sentinel successfully lobs off a wing.

Zepar’s aim is true, and both the shot and Split’s blades spell Hyperborea’s defeat. The construct collapses, inert.

The holo-screens around the device betrayed little information to Epsilon, though Sprocket fortunately arrives just then to shed some light on the subject.

Salvation flies at full speed to the fortress, her crew watching the skies for signs of the New Decepticon Order’s arrival. Search teams that had been deployed were being rerouted to the mountains via ground bridge.

GC was currently investigating his portion of the ship, looking for anything worth salvaging or investigating closer.

Leaving the blades in Hyperborea’s body, Split reaches for his shotgun and switches it back to the single-fire mode. He fires a shot at Hyperborea.

Spectrum wandered around the ship, looking for something to do.
By pure luck and chance, she wandered into the room with the ground bridge.

So what happened with SideStep’s group? With ■■■■■■■■■■■■?

On this level of the ring, Gatecrasher could find a vault storing canisters of liquid energon. A few of them were only half-full, as though whoever occupied the colony ship had been regularly using this stockpile to refuel himself. Tucked away here and there in the storeroom were bizarre clockwork artifacts, tablets of blueish-grey stone, and energon cubes that glowed with the foreboding purple aura of Dark Energon.

Sprocket could be heard sprinting past the storeroom.

“Hang on, I’ll be there in a second!” he shouts into his commlink.

The light leaves Hyperborea’s optics as the machine goes limp, defeated.

Greasemonkey and a team of engineers hover around the ground bridge module, puzzling out the secrets of Salvation’s most recent upgrade. The old cyborg was particularly in awe of the machine.

“Remarkable,” he marvels. “When this voyage is over, Sprocket and I will need to- oh, hello there, little one.”

Greasemonkey looks down as he takes notice of Spectrum.

■■■■■■■■■■■■, SideStep, and company were still within OL-2-C’s control room. The Decepticon captain watches the bronze globe in the center of the room, as holograms on its surface display Salvation moving toward the planet’s equator, leaving the mysterious colony ship behind her.

Zepar tries to have the Dark Sentinel take faux-Hyperborea’s blade and try to use it in the keyhole she rose from while Zepar tried to do the same with Faux-Atlantis’ weapon and the other keyhole.

Epsilon looks at Sprocket, “Do you know what all this stuff is saying?” He asked.

GC decides to investigate the artifacts, attempt to riddle to their purpose.

The giant swords were too heavy for Zepar and the Dark Sentinel to move.

Sprocket looks at the holo-screens and inscriptions around the chamber.

“I can read it,” he says, awestruck, “but I don’t believe it…”

None of the artifacts had any clear function or purpose- they were all strange masses of cogs, gears and rings clustered together into irregular shapes. They were all clearly old, their finishes dull and spotty, but bore no visible damage.

“And what’s the translation?” Epsilon asks.

Zepar calls the others to help him and his Dark Sentinel to try and get the swords into position in their keyholes.

“H-h-h-hello!” Spectrum replied, waving cheerily.
She peered curiously at the groundbridge. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7259, topic:49995”]

“…so now what?” SideStep asked, rather awkwardly.

“Phew. That wasn’t so bad.” Split said."
He split into Thrust, Lightshift, and Vigor.

“Uh… this is where the magic happens, so to speak,” Sprocket says.

“Figuratively and literally. That device in the center-”

Sprocket points to the machine atop the pedestal.

“-Introduces a catalyst into the cybermatter down there-”

He points down to the glowing liquid beneath the catwalks.

“-and then it’s beamed down the ship’s central spire into the planet’s core. We’ve mostly pieced together how it works from studying wreckage on each of the colonies, but no-ones ever… well, no-one’s ever seen a fully functional colony ship before. Until us, I guess…”

OOC: nice pun.

Greasemonkey follows her gaze to the module.

“Yes, a quite exciting addition, isn’t it?” he remarks.

Now, we get the next Omega Key,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ says.

Epsilon took on a grim posture, “Is there anyone on this ship we can talk to?” He asked.

Zepar and his Dark Sentinel were still trying to move just one of the swords into place.

The small cybertronian nodded her head excitedly. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7265, topic:49995”]

“Alright. Didn’t one of those triplets have it?”

Sprocket shrugs.

“Aside from Gatecrasher and the rest? I dunno.”

Zepar and the Dark Sentinel together would be able to drag one of the giant swords over to a keyhole.

Nearby, Atlantis’ sword rests by the decapitated body of the giant.

Greasemonkey steps aside to let Spectrum have a better look at the Ground Bridge.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ nods.

“Motherboard told me they had found where it was being kept,” he says.

“Let’s find out.” Epsilon said, turning away from the device.

Zepar and the Dark Sentinal tried to do the same with the second sword.

Lightshift walks over and tries to drag the sword to an unoccupied keyhole. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7268, topic:49995”]

Spectrum approaches the groundbridge, getting awfully close to the portal. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7268, topic:49995”]

“Good.” SideStep nods.
“Well, let’s not lose anymore time, then.” He transformed into vehicle mode.
