Salvation: Part II

Alone, Lightshift wouldn’t be able to drag the sword. But Zepar and his Dark Sentinel thrall are able to lend him a hand.

When she got close enough, the portal automatically pulls Spectrum through its event horizon, spitting her out beside the Fortress.

Greasemonkey cries out in alarm, hobbling over to a console to make sure the minicon hand’t been thrown into OL-2-C’s sun.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ nods in return.

“I’m beginning to like you, soldier,” he remarks, assuming his own vehicle mode: a luxurious human car, it’s grill adorned with a silver Decepticon emblem.

“You do that,” Sprocket says.

“I think I’ll stay here. Forever,” he jokes, looking around the chamber in awe.

The Angelicon and thrall do help the Splitter Brothers lug the sword into place.

“Just…don’t touch anything; I’m not sure if doing so would trip an alarm.” Epsilon said before leaving the room to explore the ship to see if anyone was living here. There’s gotta be someone here, this place looks too nice not to be. He thought.

Scorchlock transformed into his robot mode and proceeded to walk inside the facility.

“So?” King-Quan asked. “Coordinates are?”

Epsilon first encounters Gatecrasher in one of the colony ship’s storage areas, examining the odd devices tucked away in the corners of the room

There is a flash of green light as the minicon Spectrum is suddenly deposited from a ground bridge portal close beside Scorchlock.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ sends King-Quan the coordinates that Motherboard had supplied him.

“No doubt you’ll reach it before we do,” he says, “given your vehicle mode.”

Thrust and Vigor jogged over to try and help Lightshift. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7271, topic:49995”]

“Lead the way, Captain.” He says, revving his engine slightly. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7274, topic:49995”]

“H-h-h-hello.”

GC looked up from his investigations. “Ah, Epsilon, find anything?”

The five bots are able to carry the sword to the keyhole with little effort.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ guns his engine, his tires shrieking as the Decepticon speeds out of the control tower.

SideStep skids out of the tower after ■■■■■■■■■■■■, his engine humming smoothly.

The attempt is successful: the two keyblades twist simultaneously on their platforms, and the Blue Omega Key rises from the earth in the center of the arena, a few smudges of dirt now blemishing its surface.

“Well that wasn’t so hard,” Gronius wheezes, nursing a wound in his side that hissed out bright sparks.

“Oh please,” Venture scoffs, unimpressed. She, too, had sustained substantial injury, the armor on her chest and arms wrent by the techno-organic vines that had attacked our heroes during the fight.

The route to the fortress would take ■■■■■■■■■■■■ and our heroes out of the forest and away from Salvation, onto hilly terrain studded with dark stone and bits of ancient machinery poking from the ground. SideStep and Breakswitch’s vehicle forms would be able to handle it fine, but the road hazards posed more of a challenge to ■■■■■■■■■■■■’s car form, which didn’t seem at all built for offroad driving.

“Blasted human engineering…” he could be heard seething under the growl of his engine.

King-Quan nods. “So long.” The Warrior said as he walked outside and transformed into his jet mode and flew towards the coordinates.

Scorchlock glanced at Spectrum. “What you stuttering about fella?” He asked.

Thrust rubbed his chin.
“Wanna bet it’s trapped?” He mused aloud. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7279, topic:49995”]

SideStep had similar troubles as ■■■■■■■■■■■■, as his alt mode wasn’t as rugged as others.

“No st-t-t-tutter.”

■■■■■■■■■■■■ begrudgingly tolerates the rough ride- it was faster than walking, after all. After many hours, he, SideStep, King-Quan, and Breakswitch arrive at the fortress, well into the night.

Salvation hovers high overhead, bathed in pale moonlight and ribbons of green cast upward from the glowing fissures in the ground.

“Oh, totally trapped,” Venture bets.

SideStep transforms and begins to walk towards the fortress.

Thrust inspects the pile of earth and the Omega Key, trying to detect any sort of circuitry or hidden things.

■■■■■■■■■■■■ and Breakswitch follow suit and assume robot mode as well, trailing beside SideStep.

Thrust would be unable to find any hidden mechanisms.

“Hm.” Thrust murmurs, somewhat frustrated.
“Should I just… take it?”

SideStep enters the fortress, blinking to let his optics adjust.

Gronius and Venture take a cautious step back. Just in case…

“We’ll wait out here,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ says, indicating himself and Breakswitch.

“When Bludgeon arrives, the rest of the crew will keep his forces at bay while you and your friends retrieve the key.”

Thrust carefully and slowly lifts up the Key. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7286, topic:49995”]

“Alright, sounds good.” SideStep said over his shoulder.
He continues to make his way further into the fortress.

The moment Thrust seizes the Omega Key, a wave of Blue Cybermatter spreads out from the gold pedestal, travelling to the walls of the arena and creeping up the twebty-five remaining Sentinels. The substance works its magic, undoing the drones’ damages and restoring their armor. As one, the Sentinels climb to their feet and brandish their longswords.

The fortress rumbles as its next challenge is activated, and the lights along its exterior flicker.

Upon entry, SideStep would pass Scorchlock (@MichaelBT-7474) and Spectrum.

@BlackBeltGamer98

The train car carrying Salvo, Thrift, and Garand of Protihex stops at a platform in Little Iacon, just outside the Antillian Sunrise. Salvation had flown to the Fortress, and the Fleetcarrier’s crew were flocking to ground bridge portals and dropships to leave the ship.

Thrust sighed.
He gripped the Key and ran to his brothers, forming Split. The combiner backed up towards the door. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7288, topic:49995”]

SideStep glances at them but doesn’t greet them, continuing on.
Spectrum offers a feeble wave.

As one, the awakened Sentinels take a step forward, gripping their swords in both hands.

You shall go no further!” they shout, their voices booming. Gronius and Venture move closer to Split, raising their weapons.

“You… you want this?” Venture coughs, offering the Devastator MK-1 to Split. “Not sure how much good I can do with it, with the shape I’m in.”

Further in the antechamber, SideStep would see the lift that had taken the Splitter brothers and Zepar up into the arena. The echo of Atlantis waits beside it, resting his hands on the pommel of his sword, the tip of the blade balancing on the grey metal floor.
