Salvation: Part II

Sentinel #1 draws its sword back, gripping it in both hands before thrusting it forward, aiming to run the thrall through the midsection.

The blade pierces Sentinel #2’s armor, emitting an electric crackle as the drone staggers away, turning around to face Zepar.

Sentinel #4 is first pelted by rounds from the Devastator’s miniguns, before a blast from the plasma cannon finishes it off, blowing everything above the waist into smoldering slag.

Twenty-four Sentinels remained.

Sentinel #5 bats the axe aside, before chopping at SideStep’s neck.

“Motherboard came on the comms an hour ago,” Halfrunner says. “Said this is where the next piece of the Omega Lock is.”

Split summons the plates and sends them at another sentinel, aiming to do the same thing. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7311, topic:49995”]

SideStep yelps and ducks, before reaching for his cane. He quickly spun it and projected a hologram of the Sentinel.

Sentinel #6 has more time to prepare itself, and raises an energy shield to catch the plates.

Sentinel #5 takes a step back to reassess its situation, its eyes shifting between the Sentinel hologram and SideStep.

The thrall tries to catch the sword and use it to pull the sentinel to it for a killing blow.

Zepar rushes into number 2 to try and drive one of his greatswords through its chest.

“Is there anyone already there?” Garand asks Halfrunner, taking another sip of his drink.

Split fires the Devastator while the Sentinel is distracted.

The Sentinel hologram charges at Sentinel #5.

The sword cuts into the thrall’s fingers, but it would be able to grip the blade and pull Sentinel #1 closer to it.

Sentinel #2 blocks the strike with its own sword, before stepping to the side to wind its weapon back and slash at Zepar’s left flank.

Sentinel #6 is protected by its shield, but the barrier is destroyed absorbing the Devastator’s barrage.

Sentinel #5 locks blades with the hologram, holding in place for a moment before breaking off to prepare another attack.

Halfrunner nods.

“Zepar and those Decepticon combiners, I think.”

The thrall goes in for the kill, aiming to rip number 1 to shreds.

Zepar tries to block the attack with his arm cannon and knee strike number 2 in its midsection.

Garand looks at Halfrunner, a quizzical look in his optics, “What do you know about Zepar?” He asks, “I trust he has been playing nice with the others on this ship?”

The hologram lunges for #5’s sword.

King-Quan’s alt-mode was fast enough to arrive there earlier than the other crew. However, not even that would spare him from arriving well into the night. As the Warrior transformed mid-air and landed in front of the Fortress. “Interesting.” He said as he would have landed in a ground pound landing. Before he rose up back on his feet, maintaining a stoic position.

Scorchlock would have followed inside, together with King-Quan who was a bit far from the Wrecker. The two not eyeing each other as they were preoccupied with what was happening.

Sentinel #1 grapples with the thrall, dropping its sword as Zepar’s minion rips chunks out of its adversary’s armor.

This attack succeed; Sentinel #2 staggers backward, dragging its sword across the dirt.

Sentinel #6 is struck by the plates and impaled into the earth.

Sentinel #5 sidesteps to try and evade the hologram’s lunge, briefly turning its attention to SideStep.

Outside the fortress, ■■■■■■■■■■■■ had begun to direct the placement of defenses around the ancient structure. Bludgeon and the New Decepticon Order would no doubt be arriving at any time now.

The thrall is reduced to scrap.

Zepar then lays into number 2, not showing mercy!

Sentinel #1 is heavily damaged as well, limping away to give its repair mechanisms ample time to kick in.

Sentinel #2 is cut down. First an arm, then a head, and then a sparking torso hits the ground, followed by the legs of the automaton going limp and falling over.

Twenty-three Sentinels remained.

“From what I’ve seen,” Halfrunner says, nodding his head. “I’m in here most of the time; he’s out and about.”

SideStep fired the Devastator at it. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7320, topic:49995”]

SideStep steps back and reaches for his pistol, firing several shots at Sentinel #5.
The hologram turns around and swings its sword at the Sentinel as well.

Zepar looks at the remaining 23 Sentinels and growls, his eyes glowing with pale purple light as he tightens his grip on the Twilight Saber.

Garand nods, “Has he stayed out of trouble?” He asks.

The Sentinel is destroyed in a glorious explosion.

Twenty-two sentinels remained. Sentinels #7, 8, and 9 rush at Split now. 7 from his right, 8 from the left, and 9 from right in front of the combiner.

The hologram’s sword severs Sentinel #5’s right arm at the shoulder, relieving the drone of its weapon. SideStep’s shots strike it in the chest.

Sentinels #10 and 11 twirl their swords and march toward Zepar.

Halfrunner shakes his head.

“We’ve all had more 'n our share of trouble this voyage, lad,” he sighs, looking sadly out the window of the bar.

“Take what you need,” an unfamiliar voice says from behind Gatecrasher and Epsilon.

Zepar growls and faces 10 and 11, keeping himself between them and his friends.

Epsilon jumps in fright and quickly turns towards the source of the voice in his turret mode, “Who the heck are you?!” He asked. It would be clear to the entity that Epsilon meant no harm, he was just startled and wouldn’t shoot if they were friendly.

Garand looks at Halfrunner and finishes his drink, leaving a generous 45% tip for the barkeep and a 15 shanix tip for the Junkion DJ. “Thank you for the Energon.” He said. “Mind catching me up on what’s happened in this ship’s journey?” He asked politely.

GC Quickly pulled his canons forward, and limbered his spear, whirling around as he did so.

“Joy.” Split dryly said.
He summoned the blades back to him, forming two shields, one on each arm.
He reached back and grabbed his shotgun, now dual-wielding the Devastator and his shotgun. (assuming the devastator isn’t too big for that).
He aims his each gun at the sentinels approaching from the left and right, and fires. [quote=“Chromeharpoon, post:7325, topic:49995”]

11’s pace quickens, and the drone charges at Zepar, thrusting its sword forward.

Sentinel #7 is destroyed by the Devastator, leaving twenty-one of the drones remaining in the arena. The shotgun blast knocks 8 onto its back, while 9 slashes at Split’s legs.

Sentinel #5 is decapitated; its body sags to its knees and falls over. Twenty sentinels now remained.

The two would be met by the same cloaked figure that many of our other heroes had met during their exploration of this planet. Calmly, he raises his hands.

“Please, I mean you no harm,” he says. “My intentions are quite the opposite, in fact.”

Halfrunner obliges, and begins to fill Garand in:

“It’s been one setback after another, I’m afraid. As if Bludgeon’s death cult wasn’t gonna be trouble enough, our transwarp drive’s misbheavin’s delayed our voyage even more. We’ve been flying for more’n a month now, and we’re just reachin’ the Omega Lock. Or, another piece of it, anyway, as we’ve recently found out…”

Zepar blocks the strike with his normal greatsword and aims to slash in an upward diagonal path across the drone’s chest with the Twilight Saber.

Epsilon slowly transforms to robot mode and looks at the figure, “What can’t we take?” He asked.

Garand nods, keeping quiet and listening to Halfrunner’s account of the events so far.
