I’m not quite in the dark ages yet
Shaju is a once-ordinary man whose unique circumstances have led him into a far different path than anyone was expecting. He has risen from being forced at an early age to become the man of his house, to becoming a Toa Vihagu, a knight under the service of House Kihanu, and a respected figure among the coalition fighting against the Malevolent. He has a unique manifestion of his elemental control over water, making use of an “aura” of energy which he can use to attack, or more commonly to empower his suit of power armor to deflect nearly all attacks.
Shaju is known as silent but wise, rarely speaking when out of his turn but possessing great insight when he does. It is rumored among Matoran that Zerkah is the only person he speaks to - a stereotype that other Vihagu have attempted to rectify. His tall stature even among Toa is also a point of myth, an aspect that Shaju appears to take in stride and even play with on occasion.
Shaju’s power armor, created by the weaponsmith Yiako, is designed to channel Shaju’s raw elemental power to create an elemental coating that absorbs or deflects elemental energy, while the armor itself rebounds physical attacks. A chest cannon built into the suit allows Shaju to launch water upon enemies from long range, but he prefers the time-honored method of launching elemental power through his hands.
Shaju’s left gauntlet includes a small circular shield to defend with at close range, while both gauntlets include openings for him to channel his elemental power. His halberd, surprisingly, is not designed to amplify Shaju’s raw power in any way, simply to be used as a hand-to-hand weapon.
