If I were a Bionicle designer around the Stars wave, rather than making the Stars, I would’ve made the Chronicler’s company’s Toa forms, with Takanuva thrown in to make everything right before the line ended.

I’m pretty sure we were supposed to get the Element Lords instead of the stars.

I’m currently experimenting a Toa team of unconventional elements facing off against machine-based villians. I haven’t thought about the name or ā€œgimmickā€ for the Toa team, but the transformation-based Iron Armada designs have come along quite well. I’ll sketch dump a few designs later when I get the chance.

Well I thought the idea of remaking the old heroes wasnt bad. But the Stars were … well… not the best sets. The Av-Matoran Build was not very suitung… for example for a bada** character like Takanuva. For the end they really should have made some complicated unique builds for each character… @Triple sounds REALLY nice! IĀ“m currently working on a ā€œ2017 Galiā€ I’ll upload some pictures later

So here are my first thoughts of a new Gali for 2017

I’m really a huge fan of the 2009 Kiina armor it makes her look like she really owns the POWAAAH over water. Aaaand as you hopefully see i tried to make her more feminine

While I would leave the G2 waves pretty much as they are, I would release instruction booklets online (like the skull combiner instructions) for people to combine different versions of the Toa together to make a sort of ideal version that utilizes the strongest elements of both; such as combining Master Tahu with Uniter Tahu. (And using both gear functions)

So I’ve been thinking about possible designs for 2017, specifically the villians. The Toa I’m feeling to give a sort of Knightish royal vibe.

The enemies are a bit more complicated. I don’t really know which design to pursue, so far I’ve got either Shadow (Ghost) Knights or Mesoamerican Golems. Both in some way would be inspired by the Slizers. The colors would probably be varied with unifying accent being Trans-Purple. I feel the Knights work better with a Makuta design, but the Golems pose such an interesting opportunity.

Right now I’m in the purely conceptual stage without giving much thought to pricing. The model I have so far is that the Toa’s price be like how it is for 2016, however half of the small sets are villians. This is to give the winter wave a few minions to start with along with a decent $20 Makuta. The summer villians however would be 4 sets with a $15, $20, $25, and $30 pricetag.

Thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated.

I’d like to see that the elemental vibe is really pushed to the extreme! like Gali having a lot of fins and maybe even some propellers for her weapons. And so on with the other toa:
Gali - very fish-like, feminine body
Onua - BIG claws, biggest of all the toa, muscular
Kopaka - Knight-like appearance, Tall, very technologic (like the Ice-Element in G1)
Lewa - Slender, Blades, very aerodynamic, wings
Pohatu - Hammers as weapons, wide shoulders, rock-crystal addons (the ones from Korgot)
Tahu - Heroic appearance (similar to 2016), flame blades

And lot of transluscent pieces but PLEASE BY MATA NUI, NOT AS MUCH AS 2016 EKIMU! It has to look like the elemental power is floating through their bodies, so basically 80% of the bonestrucutre transluscent and solid addons (or maybe just a few transluscent pieces here, too)

RIP Waj n’ Indi

Hey i had an idea
flying enemy’s that’s original!

oh

I want something creepy but not in the spooky era ie skelmans.

Something old but familliar you know? if this is the last year it’d be nice to end on how we began IE Something that screams bionicle and not spookmans haunted cavern
whatever we get i want it to be something that brings back the bionicle vibes, something that has it’s own unique head not masks , something that screams bionicle, something familliar is what i think they’ll do hell remember the vahki they had this subtle creepy vibe to them that made them awesome enemy’s infact if you exclude 2009,2006 the villains were always creepy the odd sticky substance that looked like solid webs the dark green lighting on the stones the atmosphere is something lego might bring back
and honestly i’d be happy with that

This here is a great example on what G1 bionicle did that just screams bionicle to me
that green mysterious vibe that is what bionicle was in G1 now don’t give me that ā€œit’s a reboot it does not need to be anything like the originalā€ yet starwars fans are allowed to hate the prequels for that exact reason.

this was a ramble if anything but i love this discussion!

I would actually really enjoy that

THAT IS WHAT I WANT ! insectoids creepy hive minds
i live for that stuff it’s what got me into bionicle gen 1 it’s what my little child brain lived for! i loved making up creepy stories that would spook a babby matoran at night! the creepy hive mind the insects

like i said in a long earlier post Something like the bohrok

notice i say like because i want something not the same but still familliar
maybe they all share the same headbutt and throw a little guy at you

WAIT @Apophyx i just had a great idea, skull spiders were really weak how about we have bigger versions that launch the skull spiders like krana! and then the big bad guy for the summer wave is two! like the Bahraag SKULL SPIDER BRUDE MOTHERS created by makuta to kill the toa once and for all!

@Apophyx i am thinking of buying some bohrok with krana which one should i get?

I would really like insectoid villains with different functions, maybe even characters with multiple poseable legs.

what is the brook? you mean the book? the book had brood mothers and bohrok like creatures that threw skull spiders at you?
skull slugs would be cool to
