“Not to shoot down your idea but that is a big risk.” Callen says, “The pressure could build and send the rivets flying out of the holes or the whole door could explode and possibly bring the ceiling down on us.”
“It’s a good idea but it is rather risky.” He adds.
“Another idea could be to try and manipulate these bars at a distance so the flames don’t reach us if they activate again.” He offers.
Kanei was tempted to tell him What’s life without a little risk. but his judgment got the better of him. “I… Didn’t think of that.” He paused and thought for a second “I got nothing. how bout you?”
“Um…w-well…Well, the flames came out in a particular order. It might be a reasonable start to try…using the levers in that same order. It’s no guarantee, but if pressing them simultaneously didn’t work, then there might be some sort of pattern.”
“N-no, no. Not…those. We merely need extra hands.”
Bren nods his head to Callen, nervously. This was a guess, after all. He could very well be incorrect and be left trying to attempt the many other plans already formulating in his mind. At best he would be wasting the company’s time when they could perhaps be taking a less direct route. At worst, he could be risking lives.
But he felt a need to provide what service he could. If they wanted engineers on this quest, then he supposed it was worth an engineer’s attempt.
