Karl turned to look at Alexis.
“You must be the one in charge here, if that kid shows you such deference. You own this ship, right? Else you would have much less concern for who’s on board.”
As he finished, he took a dart from his satchel, fingering it as one would feel a toothpick.
If a fight is to start, may as well be prepared, he thought to himself.
