Tarakava, Tail or Treads?

Do tarakava (and muaka and kane-ra) have Treads? Many people have interpreted tarakava having tails and muaka and kane-ra having legs. What is your stance on these creatures appearance? Also, is the sand tarakava Canon?

I believe that the sand Tarakava is canon as a subspecies of Tarakava. Also, they specifically refer to a Tarakava’s hind legs specifically in Voyage of Fear. They also refer to the Rahi-Nui having the hind limbs of a Kane Ra.
