Kay watched the figure move towards him and heard a monotone voice coming from the direction of its face, despite the stoic, statue-esque features themselves not appearing to move at all. It all made sense to him all of a sudden.
“That’s it!” He practically jumped out of bed and turned on the light. “Ha. Ha. Very freaking funny. How the hell did you get into my house, you creep?!”
How did he not figure this out earlier? They obviously added something into the apple cider, which is why he didn’t remember coming back home, forgot to lock the door and fell asleep in his clothes, without even removing his shoes or toolbelt. And this unhinged stalker from the meeting, probably the one who messed with the cider, followed him all the way here to play a funny little joke on him. But some body paint, a piece of cloth and a cheep Halloween mask weren’t going to fool him.
Although, I don’t remember anyone from the meeting being so tall and muscular. And the costume looks way too convincing. Is she a professional cosplayer or something? Why go through the trouble of setting all of this up just to make fun of some guy from the outskirts of town?
Anyways I need to remove this weirdo from the house before old man wakes up and gets the gun.
“Come with me. You’re leaving NOW!”
He attempted to grab the figure by the wrist with the intention to lead it out of the house…
…and immediately jumped back in shock. The figure’s skin was cold to the touch and completely stiff and smooth. Almost like- no, just like actual marble.
“Well. I guess I’m just from ‘out of town’ then… whatever *that* means.”
Zenn seemed to be satisfied with this conclusion. A slight confident smile appeared on her face.
“Excuse you! I won’t be falling asleep any time soon, not after you scared the daylight out of me with that scream of yours!”
She says in a mock offended voice. “But everything here being so boring doesn’t help the situation. I bet I’ll snooze again if I don’t find something to do.”
She looks around the room again, desperately looking for something remotely fun.
Something to do… a purpose… everything in the world has one. What in the world is mine?
She is too enthralled with her thoughts to notice Cody’s worried look at the door.
