On the very day of July 2nd, 2015, the TTV Cast found the info that led to the discovery of the Rebirth of Bionicle, found online, and leaked to the Bionicle community.
Our dear friends @IllustriousVar and @Eljay discovered the leak, and made a video on said discovery.
Within days, the fanbase flocked the internet, looking for conformation, and attempting to gather the info of Bionicle’s whereabouts. Many fans looked to and fro, in every nook and cranny within all search browsers.
Then TTV found another leak, this time more clear.
With this hightened prescence, fanbases like even the high-reputated BZP commented on the leaks, and were greatful for the news for all.
Then, as the year progressed, we received more news.
The names of the sets were revealed: The protecters, the original Toa, and The Lord of Skull Spiders.
In fact, we received these names before the colored leak.
Anyhow, then we received news to pricing and the story in slight.
however, within days, the entire fanbase discovered the bigger find: the Mask of Creation!
Found by some BZPer, this was the Mask that allowed us to take full credibility of Bionicle’s return.
Soon after, on September 19th, Bionicle was confirmed, and the fanbase rejoiced!
So what are your thoughts on Bionicle’s Return? Let us know via posts, as today is the great day of the return of the Bionicle!
In TTV episode 107 Meso said that they got word of the leaks the day before they made the video (July 1st) but hesitated and made the video on July 2nd when the display came out.
Actually we got the names of the sets BEFORE the coloured display.
I remember watching the TTV leak video… I started flailing around. (No, really.) I almost thought that it was going to be a continuation in some way, then I saw the official announcement…
Ahh yeah. I remember when I was one night just searching for bionicle-something, the first thing that showed when I wrote Bionicle was “Bionicle 2015”, I was like WHAT?!?! I had no clue about it until like October. So glad we have them back
I remember these…and how I SCREAMED when I saw the black and white display…not a scream of joy, but a scream of pain…and then the colored one got me hyped, and then LEGO announced Bionicle to return ON MY BIRTHDAY…
The discovery and internal confirmation of the BIONICLE display definitely ranks upon my top moments since joining the internet in 2007. That was truly… a crazy turn of events.
