At the end of july I went back to the local bricks and minifigs and managed to pull $582.80 worth of parts for $135.75 (one large bag and one medium bag). Sorted it all and here are only the valuable parts. Each thing you see averages at least a dollar or more on bricklink. You may notice I pulled an off brand red adventurers car grill. Haven’t the slightest idea where it comes from but I needed one to complete the hot rod from lego stunt rally. Here’s what it looks like:
Oh yeah and I also met an awesome teacher there and taught her some things about lego (without being overwheming). Identified the shark mouth head from atlantis, the white pointy castle helmet from the hp chess set, and belloq’s pith helmet from ij from memory (I don’t have a smartphone). She was very nice and just wanted to learn about lego, told me all about the lego she had in the 90s too and gave me her store credit lol.
Any Standard HG hand can probably hold these, though note that only the gold parts of the grip will have any friction, the blue part is just too small. Still very good for $10 off amazon. (If anyone wants a link, just ask and I’ll replace this bit with one)
In other news, he hasn’t shipped yet, but MCB Flame Nova is coming.
With this, I finally have all of the novels from the three primary G1 series (Chronicles, Adventures, and Legends), obtained entirely from whatever I can find at thrift stores and used book shops.
The crazy part is how long this one took. From the time I first started looking for the novels, it took me about five years before I had 24/25. This last one took another five. About two years ago, I had almost started assuming that it just was never sold in my country for some reason, because that made more sense than never finding it for so long despite seeing the others enough times to have 10+ copies if I wanted.
It’s attached to the arm, it just looks like its floating because I currently don’t have access to my Photography set up, and the black part of the excavator arm blends into my computer screen.
Decided to pick up an unbranded “Ninja Mech” set which was on clearance at the supermarket. Design is complete garbage and the minifigure is criminally hideous, but the parts quality is excellent. At least I can use it as MOC fodder.
Worriz doesn’t actually seem to be incomplete, his arms are just built wrong. His hands are connected too far down the forearm piece, once they’re attached higher you’ll be able to give him is sword and shield that are in the pile of loose parts
Yeah I know, I just didn’t bother reassembling anything (they arrived like this) since I took them apart to wash the pieces anyways. Cragger is 100% complete too, and Eris is only missing her weapob
