I believe to many bionicle fans , posing is an integral part of the experience , the thrill of building and playing , and that inexorable urge to just leave it there when you got it in a nice pose. I know it is very subjective , but what do you guys think make up an “awesome” pose ? I’d like , especially , to see the way you guys pose the new skull villains haha , cause I can’t seem to get skull grinder and skull scorpio in a good pose , tho I think my poses for the rest are pretty standard.
In my Opinion, Posing is just as important as the set, well when it comes to displaying it. For example, let’s say you want the Toa to not be in some sort of Action Pose, just a straight look. It is extremely important not to just make it look simple (feet are not tilted at all, Arms tucked and weapons pointing up, etc.). A more complex pose would be needed. Try to capture the characters personality, Like Gali’s more positive nature by keeping her body high and Kopaka by putting his shield in front of himself slightly to show his insecurities. It might sound pretty odd, but it worked for me in the long run.
Tahu should always be posed with his head held high is another example
Exactly.
Thx guys , but I have a problem with grinder , he is in this wierd action pose
And Scorpio, just how haha
I would recommend Standing him tall, which seems impossible with the current shelf. He needs a bit more space and his staff slightly behind him, with some of the pole being behind him. Scorpio? Give up on posing him.
Kind of, but his staff would be pointing up.
Kopaka never struck me as insecure…
He’s always cool. Always strong.
I always took the line “Strives to be perfect” from his Bio as a way to say he doesn’t think he is good enough and that he tries to hide it with his Cold appearance. Oh also,
But what do I know.
Yet he is confident enough to challenge Tahu and lead the Toa instead.
Anyways, back on topic, I enjoy posing my sets fighting each other, like my Vizuna is aiming his air elemental flame bow (that name still confuses me) at a Skull Spider ready to pounce.
Could we PM by any chance?
That seems pretty interesting. Do you use a poseable Stand for your Skull Spiders?
I have one front leg and one back leg pointing up and the other two legs pointing down (as it leans on one of its “head clips” for stability) giving the impression that it’s running towards Vizuna.
I don’t deem that necessary.
Pose Master Kopaka without his shield whenever possible because it is terrible to pose.
Pose Master Tahu on his lava board whenever possible, because you’re not sure if his primary weapons are the gold swords or the lava swords.
Pose Master Lewa with is wings, always.
Pose Makuta Krika clinging to a vertical surface.
Pose Vahki Keerahk in the upright pose, but Nuurahk in the downright pose (even though I’m contradicting that right now).
Always have some on your desk so you can mess with them all the time.
I tend to pose them…whatever I find cool. I liked to make Lewa look like he is moving swiftly, I would pose Gali however I like…and my HF sets…whatever I like…depends on what I feel like.
I like posing all my skull spiders with one character so they are climbing all over him and making him dead.
Well, when posting pics of my MOCs I always try to get at least one shot that works with the character and is dynamic in some way. If I do more than one, I get them from different angles so it’s more interesting and shows off the build.
Stances really show the character on how strong they are or to show striking poses to attract buyers
he looks awful without his shield.
His primary weapons are the lava swords, and the lava board is terrible for posing
axes allow for better looking poses
this would look awkward
