So I bought this back in early 2015 and I just recently got around to watching it.
Essentially it’s about two guys trying to win over their female childhood friend and a bunch of supernatural stuff happens. And it all takes place in old time Mexico, it’s amazingly animated, each character in the “story” is represented by wooden puppets, and it has some very noteworthy voice actors.
Guillermo Del Toro worked on this Movie and it has Ron Perlman in it. Yeah, if you know what movies Ron Perlman has been in, you’ll get what I am getting at.
I found the story was a bit cliche and absolutely despised the interrupting kids and pop-culture references, but the fantastic visuals won me over. I loved the character designs and art style, easily one of my favourite eye-candy movies.
While some character designs were a little off-putting, it was a good movie. It’s been a while since I watched it, so I can’t say much else, other than that. Still, it’s pretty good.
