I follow this topic, and I still don’t remember seeing it before even after checking to verify your statement. I recently saw it featured on the news at work and thought I would be clever sharing it without context. Probably should have checked if it was already posted beforehand.
It’s one of a number of sculptures located in Enterprise, Alabama commemorating Boll Weevils. These insects ate most of Alabama’s cotton crops in the late 1800s and spurred on the diversification of crops, including peanuts.
