The children’s literature topic

One children’s book I loved back then and still regard highly today is “Ronja, the robber’s daughter” by Astrid Lindgren. It follows the titular Ronja, daughter of a robber clan chief, who meets Birk, son of a rival robber clan. The two become good friends, but their families don’t approve of it which leads to more conflict. Nevertheless, the two embrace their friendship and go on adventures together.
In the end (spoiler alert) the two clans come to a peaceful agreement. Ronja and Birk are supposed to continue the robber tradition, but the two decide that it’s not their thing and instead go on their own way of life.

It’s either das Kind (if it’s one child) or die Kinder (if there’s multiple of them) :triumph:
