The Dreamstalker

Perhaps you’ve seen him in a dream…

or maybe a strange phantasm lurking within your imagination.

Have you seen The Dreamstalker?

A nightmare who lurks in the shadows of dreams, waiting.

An entity who bides his time, thinking.

What he desires is his own, and how he goes about executing his ambitions only he knows.

Should you find yourself in the desolate, winding forests of his realm,

Close your eyes and go to sleep, for he will return you to whence you came.

Unless you desire to explore, then walk forward into the undead forest,

Shrouded in crimson mist and cloaked by the light of a sanguine moon.

Fear not the terrors that jeer at and taunt you, for they are envious of your bravery.

Walk forward and partake in the dread and fear the Dreamstalker cultivates,

For fear is the most potent catalyst of creativity and imagination.

The Dreamstalker is a truly ancient Ar’ton of nightmares, haunting the dreams of young Ar’ton since time in memorial. Banished to the depths of the Dream Realm for how chaotic he is, The Dreamstalker walks the dreams of countless beings of all kinds, observing all that he can. His ambitions are always shifting, but he has shown no interest in usurping the Cosmos, thankfully. He also seems to abhor The Sepulchure God, but why is unclear…

ULTRAMagic Archive (the lore book) on Tumblr (Also on DA, Wattpad, and Blogspot)

I haven’t posted here in a long time and I haven’t done anything Bionicle related in a while, but I have been working on a Science Fantasy adventure novel series with dashes of cosmic horror called ULTRAMagic Alternate. And in that series exist energy beings that exist between the 10th and 13th dimensions called the ar’ton. And naturally they have affinities ranging from fire, water, darkness, light, anti-matter, plasma, nightmares, explosions, poison, fumes, electricity, and so on. Yes, they are heavily inspired by Bionicle G1.

Surprisingly this is the first ar’ton I’ve drawn despite him not being mentioned in the books or lore yet. The ones that have been mentioned or have appeared so far are Terrus (ar’ton chronicler of shadow), Tereza (ar’ton of water), Lord Anti (master of positrons), Lord Ultra (master of tachyons), Bronislav (ar’ton of explosions), Lord Shadow (master of darkness), and Lord Leukos (master of light). I also have 28 lore entries for the series with 29-31 planned, but the ar’ton still haven’t gotten their own lore entry yet…

I’ll give you two guesses as to who Tereza was inspired by given the context, ha. Anyways, I’ll stop it here and quit rambling. If you want to see more, let me know. And if you’re interested in reading the UMAE books, you can read them on DA, Tumblr, Wattpad, and the official blog. Also there’s more about the inspiration for The Dreamstalker on DA and the official blog.

Bro why is he driving in his car right after a beer :deer: :car:

Really hard to tell what he’s supposed to be, outside of incredibly smug. I can see the one splatter brush you’re fond of repeated heavily throughout his body, and making the outline of the area that’s meant to be either ethereal or combusting bright red instead of black is a nice touch.

If any of your written content is Boards-appropriate, you can always share it in a topic in the literature category - or write something wholly original for it if nothing fits. But some direct reference to what this guy is would probably help in understanding the piece.

My aunt Teresa who loves alcohol

Also the power of explosions is super vague; I feel like I probably qualify after I eat taco bell (I don’t eat taco bell :face_vomiting:)

Any reference to the BergenTRUCK meme is unintentional, although I will concede that perhaps I was subconsciously influenced by it, ha. In actuality I wanted to give The Dreamstalker a bit of personality and not have him just standing their blankly.

If the nonsense poem and provided lore are too vague I can link to ULTRAMagic Archive (the lore book, despite the current lack of a lore entry for the ar’ton). Perhaps I should have done that from the start, but hey, live and learn.

And I would post some of the UMAE writing here, but I’ve written ten books over the past 2 and half years (before anyone asks, no, I wasn’t going quantity over quality, I just found a rhythm that worked for me). They’re nothing too hard or long to read, it’s just that there’s a lot to share. Again I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to link some of them.

The character design is awesome.
