It doesn’t for me when I consider that the DLC is a thing.
Whether it’s exciting is up to you, but they still need to pay people to develop it.
Looks like there was a NK panel at SDCC. A few interesting concept builds and development bits were shown.
I always love seeing this type of stuff. Makes you look at sets as the end results of a long evolution.

One, rather aestheticly unpleasing minifigure, imo.
Which they could have put in decent sets instead.

I get that sometimes but in this case I think the final products are actually better.
I bought my second Nexo Knight book today. Why? So that i could upload images from it here for you all to see. By the way, this book is the first one to feature the plant monsters in a main role… But only in one story.
Oh and the book,s title is “monster swarm”.
How many images are you gonna upload? Do not distribute the book on here please.

ok, here are all of the images that is in the book… minus a few from the last part which are unimportant.
first of all, this is the first image in the book… which is just an alternate version of the book cover.
and this is from the content page, but lets get over to the main story pages now.
i desited to blur the text for some of the larger images so its non readable.
this image by the way, just sums up Nexo Knight to me, a bunch of non worried characters who easly defeat a group of non threatning monsters.
to those wondering. Yes, that is a giant bucket in the middle of the town… and the reason Lavaria is wearing a blue cloak was to blend in with the bucket. Don’t ask me why, im just showing you all the images
if you guys actualy pay some attension to the artwork of the plant monsters… you might notice that something is not right with them
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done. now some of you might ask why i did not blur the text on the final image… well that is because its not part of the book’s stories and it gives little info about the plant monsters. the main info about the plant monsters is on the next page, which im not posting because it have no image on it and i see no reason to do that.

I have none of the sets but I really want some of them. I want the fortrex so bad.
It may be for kids, especially the show, but the characters, the setting, the story its friggin inspiring!!
I hope it sells amazing so it keeps going longer than 3 years.

I got a question here because I haven’t followed Nexo Knights beyond the first two episode: Have the knights ever once attempted to bring Jestro back to good?
nope, none what so ever. heck, on many occations they have just let Jestro get away, not because they can’t stop him or are distracted by some large threath, they just let him go to.
Just got Ultimate Magmar today.
He’s a really nice set. The printing is extraordinary.

I don’t remember anyone trying to console Teridax or help him out later on either. I mean, he wasn’t always a bad dude. He just got upset because the Matoran treated him like a monster, so he went mad and became the monster that they viewed him as.

IIRC, there’s also some biological nonsense regarding “inner light” and “inner shadow” in there as well, but I can’t be certain.
Bionicle anatomy was always funky.

My irrational reasoning is that LEGO will continue to bank on and to focus on story for Ninjago for it to stay relevant until the movie comes out.
I like to think of it as bs science. 
If I remember correctly, Makuta even offered to let Mata Nui help him conquer other worlds, but Mata Nui was all like, “screw off” and threw him into a moon. At that point Makuta was willing to put differences aside moreso than Mata Nui was.
