Lavaria. The only one that’s waifu material.
Personality wise, Lavaria or Magmar. Lavaria is just an archetype we don’t see often in Lego themes, the sort of manipulative spy. Magmar is just awesome. I love how he’s basically the “civilized” monster, and his voice in the show is awesome.
Lavaria, because there’s just something weirdly classy about her design. Also, more importantly, the fact she has a beetle form.
they might use this peice:
basicly by connecting it to the back of the arm.
this is the best recreation i could make with the peices i could find on LDD.
thats no suprice, given that his voice is done by Garry Chalk, better known for doing the voice for Optimus Primal in Beast Wars and Beast Machines and Optimus Prime durring the Unicron trilogy.
but he has also done a few villain voices too, like Badrap from Extreme Dinosaurs and Doctor Ivo Robotnik in… Sonic Underground…
Aaaaannnd I think I just figured out my favorite Nexo Knights character
…they look so very bad. but seriously, Bionicle’s story team definitely has some serious influence here. Not bad, Lego!
Or Lego just got sick of hearing about how bad a deal the Ultimates were XP
I know it’s build able figures and whatnot but G2 didn’t have system nor did it have Mechs…
the shield things are aight, but otherwise those are just plain ugly
If they’re only like $10, they might actually be a great way to get mixel joints, and some other cool parts.
They replace the Ultimates, and I can’t see what makes them much worse than paying $10 for a display base.
Nah, they use a version with a brick there rather then pinholes. I have some from Galaxy Squad sets…
Welp, I know at least one set I’ll definitely be getting next year.
I want that robo-horse so bad.
I am quite fond of Whiparella and general Magmar.
I wasn’t really aluding to Bionicle so literally, @Joe…it’s more about the concepts. Themes including hidden villains, strong focus on character development, and upgradeable armor and weapon systems to help the heroes with their new challenges are all themes shared with these two lines. I think that in and of itself it really nice.
You have a really good point about the ultimates though!
But
That’s basically
Every kid’s action story
Those are all very common traits.
Well, you got me there!
So maybe it’s not so much the concepts…maybe it’s more of the feel of the series. Nexo Knights gives the idea that the creative team has pulled a lot of experience and successful strategies from other lines (especially in developing a more interesting and connected plot) and included them in this, and it’s refreshing to see that spirit of good storytelling still is a priority for Lego. I honestly didn’t expect that from this line at all, so it’s been a pleasant surprise!
I can see that Lego is definitely using a thing or two from Ninjago, so I’m willing to assume that this show will slowly take a slightly more serious tone as the story develops.
Can I just say that I’m not fond of the whole “damsel in distress” thing they keep doing with the queen? Honestly, I’d prefer it be Queen Halbert saving Aaron at this point.
Edited as upper segment was replying to incorrect topic*
Just really cant get into these sets. Some of the design updates are alright, such as the horse, but i cant get into the colour schemes. They just seem drained.
I feel like they really did miss out on making a queen’s mech or something awesome this next wave.
