In another world, he was a the product of the mind of a mad Turaga, bent on the incarceration and enslavement of the Toa in the name of the well-being of the Matoran. He is an organic bound in machinery, a behemoth whose only purpose is the hunting of Toa. But a new crisis has taken shape. Reality has become distorted. Space is warped and time is bendable. And as universes converge, this hunter now founds himself transported to a new island. Unfamiliar, yes, but still coursing with the familiar scent of Toa.
His name was feared once. It shall be feared again.
Some of you guys may remember this guy from my old MOC topic. After a great deal of alterations (and time), I thought it best to give him his own thread so I can get more focused criticisms. So here we go.
I like his dragon mode, gunface mode reminds me of lockdown, though there’s something a little off to me about his bipedal mode I can’t put my finger on
I’ve considered replacing it, but the only other good contender I have for a head is the Corroder helmet, which is kinda a vital bit of coverage for the dragon head.
I have to agree with Lelouch here.
This really just looks like a dragonish/bipedal shaped ball of parts.
The colour scheme seems off, lime, metru green, gunmetal, silver and black just doesn’t look very good, and the Ehlek head sticks out like a sore thumb, The colour scheme wouldn’t be that bad but the colours just seem to be randomly strewn about.
It looks really flimsy and imposable,
The wings look cumbersome and oversized.
The dragon head just looks really odd with all the lime spikes everywhere.
The proportions are off, it has a fat round body, long skinny legs and short spindly arms.
The transformation doesn’t seem to do anything that interesting or innovative.
Unless of course you’re referring to their placement in the robot mode, to which I say it was intended to be cape-like.
No one has ever gotten on my case for this, and I myself don’t plan on changing it.
This mainly comes down to consequences of transformation. The dragon mode requires a larger body that just isn’t going to look all that appealing in robot mode. As for the legs, not much I can tell other than they’re, well, not skinny. They were originally skinny, but now, they’re twice as thick. I don’t see where you’re coming from with this. They just don’t look skinny to me.
I thought having the head split into three separate sections to form shoulder armor while having the arms lock into pins on said shoulder armor when they’re not being used as the front of the wings was at least somewhat innovative, but I guess that’s just me.
It doesn’t matter if it’s the transformations fault it’s still a problem.
Compared to the width of the torso the lags are skinny.
Having the front of the alt mode split and become shoulders has been done before multiple times: Animated UltraMagnus, AOE Grimlock.
Having things peg in is far from innovative.
I’m a bit new here, but this MOC looks awesome! Great job! I sometimes wish I had that many parts for MOCing. Currently, I only own mostly Bionicle G1 stuff for constraction stuff, which definitely makes it hard. But good job! 10/10.
