Ok, i appear to have fixed mine :3
Though this topic should probably remain open for others who have this issue to learn how it can be solved - and until an easier solution to this problem is found.
Here is my solution;
- Uninstall every version of your browser (Program’s and features, view installed updates, locate your browser and uninstall) - you may have to do this several times to completely remove it or get it down to its base level
- Remove the folder where the browser information is stored (You may need an unlocker for this, be careful you don’t delete anything crucial)
I’m not sure why that worked, but upon re-installing the browser it seems to be back to normal;

Though still retains the issue where it doesn’t register even if you’ve read/commented on the topic. But at least the dates are fixed so you can tell which topic’s are new.
- Remove plugins
- Delete browsing history
- Clear cache
If those don’t work try my solution above, though be careful you don’t remove anything important.
