Transformers: Dawn of a New Age Signups and Discussion Topic (Sign-Ups Open)

I don’t remember what they’d watch off the top of my head, but it’s probably under the Transformers culture tag on the wiki. Though it includes everything, so not the quickest thing to pick through. I know there are several news stations at least.

Allies in your fight against evil…

Planetary Leaders

While Axis Prime may be the figurehead of the New Imperium of Cybertron as a whole, the individual colonies are overseen by their own governments. Representatives from each world regularly meet in council. These politicians are most often absorbed in the governmental humdrum of the New Imperium; it is difficult for laymen to have an audience with them without first jumping through the legal hoops set by their administrations, but those of particular renown may have more success in contacting them directly.

Chaplain- Hecate

Name: Chaplain

Homeworld: Hecate

Appearance:

Credit to artists Josh Nizzi and Wesley Burt.

Alt-mode: a cybertronian semi-truck.

Weapons: in robot mode, Chaplain wields a large sword and a shield with a built-in cannon.

Bio: the body of the democratically-elected ruler of Hecate, Cybertron’s first moon, was built to pay homage to the Knights of Cybertron, complete with verses from The Covenant of Primus inscribed on his armor and sword. This seems to have influenced Chaplain’s personality a great deal; like those warriors of cybertronian legend, he is deeply religious and honorable; a stoic, yet compassionate bot who wields his power justly and is beholden to his people. He has long been an advocate for getting the cybertronian race back into the galaxy at large, and has since become the unofficial director of the New Imperium’s efforts to connect with the other civilizations of the Milky Way.

Hammerhead- Gigantion

Name: Hammerhead

Homeworld: Gigantion

Subtypes: titan, triple-changer.

Appearance: Earthrise Ironworks, but with a light shade of red replacing the yellow-orange on the toy’s arms. Hammerhead is almost 290 feet tall in robot mode.

Alt-modes: Hammerhead transforms into a mobile crane station.

Weapons: in robot mode, Hammerhead carries a welding torch that can incinerate smaller bots, though it was designed more as a construction tool than a weapon. He can also extend the chain attached to the hook on the end of his right arm, and swing it around like a flail.

Bio: After the events of Twilight of the Golden Age, the micromasters Drill and Bit ceded power, and Hammerhead was elected as their successor. The foreman has since busied himself with efforts to rebuild the ruined cities of the colonies abandoned after the Great War, while his people continue to build onto their megacity as they always have. Hammerhead is a kind and trusting titan, eager to make connections and lend his experience to whatever job needs doing.

Autobahn- Velocitron

Name: Autobahn

Homeworld: Velocitron

Appearance:

Credit to artist Josh Nizzi.

Alt-mode: a cybertronian motor bike.

Weapons: in robot mode, Autobahn wields electrified blades stored in her wrists, and her hands can transform into projectile-based submachine guns.

Bio: for the second time, the young and energetic Autobahn has won the Speedia 5000, the race held once every five millennia in Navitas to determine who will rule the colony of Velocitron. Autobahn is much more of a celebrity than a politician, wholly lacking the gravitas of her peers and making frequent public appearances for her adoring fans. Nonetheless, she had gained much more skill as a leader and confidence in her abilities since the formation of the New Imperium, and represents the spirit of her home planet well.

Bootleg- Junkion

Name: Bootleg

Homeworld: Junkion

Subtypes: minicon, Point-One-Percenter. Approximately 0.1% of all cybertronians are born with an aberrant spark that grants them special abilities.

Appearance: Bootleg resembles TLK Sqweeks’ deluxe class toy, however with the dirty yellow and grey color scheme of WALL-E. His eyes glow a bright shade of green, and the armor on his right arm is an off-white color.

Alt-mode: a motorized terran scooter.

Weapons and Abilities: Bootleg really got shafted when it comes to his spark’s “special power”: his body is in a constant state of disrepair, and various limbs and other pieces of him are always falling off him or breaking down. On the upside, he’s remarkably easy to put back together, and he’s learned a great deal of cybertronian medicine to help himself alleviate his condition.

Bootleg’s right arm can transform and mass shift into an amalgamation of a plasma cannon, a laser-guided rocket launcher, and a scrapmaker minigun. He also carries a white-and-red trailer which contains spare parts and medical equipment, and it can attach to his back to deploy a pair of missile racks.

Bio: following his adventures in Twilight of the Golden Age, Bootleg returned to Junkion while his pal Salvage and his conjux endura spent their honeymoon touring the Prime Colonies. Life sure was good with all that shanix the government had given him… and then the next thing he knew, he was suddenly in the running to be the next President-Czar-God-King of Junkion! And he was winning! The universe wasn’t done toying with the malfunctioning minicon yet, it seems, and now he’s had to wing it as Junkion’s Head of State and Supreme Leader ever since. And somehow, his approval rating is through the frakkin’ roof. Go figure…

Nirali Patel- Amity

Name: Nirali Patel

Homeworld: Amity

Age: 221 years

Appearance: Nirali is a dark-skinned human woman with brown eyes who wears her greying hair pulled back in a simple bun. She often wears elegant clothing made from colorful fabrics and ornate cybertronian regalia. Her clothes bear designs inspired by various human and cybertronian cultures, and she wears a necklace made from earth metals enclosed around multicolored energon crystals.

Weapons, Abilities, Equipment: N/A

Bio: Nirali Patel is the current chancellor of Amity, tasked with overseeing the proceedings of the planet’s deliberative body and conveying her people’s interests to the New Imperium of Cybertron and the United Human Polities. Like many amitans, she is fluent in both human and cybertronian languages, and identifies with a unique blend of both species’ cultures. She tends to be soft-spoken and mild-mannered, though there is an impressive gravitas behind her demeanor that earns her the respect of her colleagues.

Ironclad- Primogenitum

Name: Ironclad

Homeworld: Primogenitum

Appearance: Ironclad is twenty-five feet tall, with grey and black armor accented by silver trimming on his chest and head. His eyes glow a dim blue behind a narrow visor, and his vocalizer unit is hidden beneath a mouthguard. On either side of his head are sweeping fins made to resemble feathery wings, and similar ornaments adorn his forearms.

Credit to artists Josh Nizzi and Wesley Burt.

Alt-mode: a robotic ursagryph- a bear-falcon hybrid.

Weapons: Ironclad wields a massive greatsword that can throw waves of sky-blue energy from its blade, like the Star Saber. Its flats are adorned with Prima’s emblem and various cyberglyphs. Like all Knights of Cybertron, Ironclad carries a circular Talisman device on his left wrist, which can serve as a communicator and digital assistant. It can also project rectangular energy shields from its edges to protect Ironclad and up to four other characters.

Bo: Primogenitum is led by a council of twelve of the most esteemed members of the Order of the Knights of Cybertron, in honor of the original twelve bots who founded the order before the First Golden Age. Many members of the previous iteration of this council were killed during the battle over Cybertron at the end of Twilight of the Golden Age, necessitating new energon to be brought into its ranks. For their long and exemplary service to the order and cybertronian-kind, Ironclad was among those offered a seat. He presides over the council, now, and has adjusted to the position well enough. He is a chivalrous bot, and stoic enough to make Chaplain seem downright bubbly in comparison. Truth be told, he’s a bit dense, but a fine warrior and an even better leader, all the same.

Uvajed- Aevum

Name: Uvajed

Universe: TGA- 2.22.6

Homeworld: Aevum

Appearance: Uvajed is twenty-five feet tall, with a medium build and deep brown armor, which is marbled with irregular, round patterns that give the plates the appearance of treated wood. They are lined with gold and bronze filigree that bears a metallic sheen, and clockwork mechanisms can be seen constantly ticking and whirring between it all. Uvajed has an Optimus Prime-style mouthplate and dark green optics.

Alt-mode: Uvajed transforms into a cybertronian spaceplane.

Weapons and Abilities: Uvajed carries a staff built from an amalgam of bronze-colored rods, gears, and couplings that can transform into a semi-automatic plasma rifle. In robot mode, he can summon up to six versions of himself from the recent past to aid him in the present. However, if one of these past-Uvajed’s are killed, the present Uvajed will cease to exist.

Bio: Uvajed hails from one of the oldest of the TGA-cluster’s alternate realities, in which a re-awakened Unicron devoured Cybertron and her colonies 65,000 years ago. He fled to TGA-Prime as a refugee, and has lived there since. He has recently become the ruler of the colony world, simultaneously leading an order of guardians dedicated to safeguarding the multiverse from threats to the fabric of reality.

Index- Sophos

Name: Index

Homeworld: Sophos

Appearance: Index stands fourteen feet tall, with a slight, humanoid build and dull purple armor accented with red trimming. She has a pair orange optics behind a transparent visor designed to emulate a large, round set of spectacles. Index’s silhouette highly resembles that of Prowl II:

Alt-mode: Index transforms into a robotic owl, similar to the one Prowl II transformed into:

Weapons and abilities: aside from a set of sharp talons, Index has no weapons to speak of. She has an enhanced processor which allows her to wirelessly connect to Sophos’ archives and digital libraries anywhere in the galaxy.

Bio: The ruler of the colony of Sophos serves as the head curator for the planet’s extensive databases and collections of historical artifacts, and Index is wholly devoted to these duties. The bookish transformer has recently been busy overseeing the addition of the epoch of cybertronian history into Sophos’ archives, following the formation of the New Imperium of Cybertron.

Lathe- Astrum

Name: Lathe

Homeworld: Astrum

Appearance: Lathe is a humanoid robot standing about forty feet tall, with a stocky form shrouded in red and white armor. Her eyes are blue, and a prominent rectangular crest rises from her forehead.

Alt-mode: Lathe transforms into a six-wheeled transport vehicle of cybertronian make.

Weapons and Equipment: in robot mode, Lathe wields a giant spear tipped with an energon spike. The tip can be heated to augment its ability to pierce armor, and the spear also has a jet built into its shaft.

Bio: Lathe is an oddity among the people of Astrum: she has the spark of a warrior, not an artist. The ring-world and its culture are very important to her, however, and she fiercely dedicates herself to safeguarding her people. Beneath her terse, down-to-earth exterior and several layers of armor plating is a clever and compassionate spark in the vein of Solus Prime before her.

Oddball- Vergrandis

Name: Oddball

Homeworld: Vergrandis

Subtybe: Shifter, Minicon

Appearance: Oddball is a seven foot tall minicon with long limbs and rounded orange armor. His head is small for his broad-shouldered frame, and his face consists only of two large, round eyes that glow a pale blue. Dark grey flaps on the top of his head help Oddball convey emotion in lieu of his missing facial features.

Weapons: various. As a Shifter, Oddball can reform his body into almost any weapon he can imagine. He also wears the Chimera Stone around his neck.

Abilities: As a Shifter, Oddball can shape-shift, drawing upon excess mass stored in a pocket dimension to increase his size when necessary.

Alt-modes: various. Again, he’s a shape-shifter.

Bio: Only on the care-free world of Vergrandis could someone like Oddball end up the leader of an entire planet. The eccentric minicon isn’t quite sure how he got the job, but he’s enjoyed the many perks and executive privileges that it has afforded him. His demeanor is bizarre and confounds everyone around him, but beneath his quirks and oddities is a bot of strong moral conviction, who remembers well how Micronus Prime formed the moral center of the Thirteen. He feels it is the duty of both himself and his people to continue that legacy and arbitrate disputes between the cybertronian colonies, even if his methods are very, very odd…

Boreal- Elementum

Name: Boreal

Subtype: Triple-changer

Homeworld: Elementum

Appearance: Boreal is seventeen feet tall, with a hunched build and spindly, unarmored limbs. Tangled circuitry is visible on his arms, legs and midsection, and an array of lenses and scopes sits in lieu of his right eye. Boreal’s thorax sports round, white armor, and two capes made from a flexible metallic alloy hang off his shoulders, which are covered in glassy black solar panels.

Alt-mode: Boreal transforms into a small rocket, and a satellite equipped with a suite of cameras and various sensors.

Weapons: none.

Equipment: the sensor and camera suites mentioned above can be used in both robot and satellite mode. They are useful for imaging, detecting radiation, tracking substances and people, and mapping locations.

Abilities: like Alchemist Prime before him, Boreal can see beyond the material realm into the mystical inner workings of the cosmos, granting him insight into many matters both physical and spiritual.

Bio: the ancient and pensive Boreal has ruled over Elementum’s city states from Alchimia since his predecessor fell in battle. Many of the younger and inexperienced members of the intraplanetary council turn to him when seeking guidance, and he is happy to impart the lessons that the universe has taught him over the millennia his spark has burned. He often orbits his home planet in his satellite mode, staring out into the universe. For as much as he knows, he is ever in awe of the boundlessness of the cosmos, and its many mysteries that no civilization will ever unravel.

Sum-of-Many -Concordia

Name: Sum-of-Many

Homeworld: Concordia

Subtype: Combiner.

Appearance: Sum-of-Many’s torso is formed from a cybertronian hypersonic jet, with sleek red and white armor, broad shoulders, and a narrow waist. Two black attack helicopters join together to help form their waist and legs, their propellers hanging off their hips to form faulds. A squat, grey armored car forms Sum’s left arm, while a blue fighter jet forms the right, its wings folding over the upper arm and shoulder. Sum’s head is narrow and white, with a grey visor and two black fins jutting backward from either side.

Alt-mode: in their gestalt form, Sum-of-Many has no alternate mode. Their individual components each have their own, however, which are mentioned above.

Weapons: Sum-of-Many wields the Cyber Caliber, and a large shield is mounted on their left arm. Their individual components each wield pieces of the legendary blade when separated. Sum can launch missiles from cylindrical pods on their back, and twin machine guns are built into their right arm.

Bio: Sum-of-Many is a gestalt mind that has existed since the end of the Golden Age, a unique collective consciousness that has endured for tens of millions of years by being transferred from one group of combiners to the next. Each new component retains their individual identity while playing host to Sum, but share their experiences with the collective, adding their wisdom to its memory banks. Sum-of-many controls the team’s combined form, and is revered for their vast intellect. They often come across as strangely detached and passive in their speech and mannerisms, though no less dependable and good-natured.

Carrion- Eukaris

Name: Carrion

Homeworld: Eukaris

Subtype: techno-organic

Appearance: in robot mode, Carrion has a haggard appearance, with a hunched back, long and slender arms ending in six-fingered claws, digitigrade legs ending in sharp talons, and a narrow head atop which sits the cranium of his beast mode like a disturbing headdress, its beak sloping down over his face. His armor is sliver and black, and his organic components are a dusty shade of grey, beneath which thin blue veins are visible.

Alt-mode: Carrion transforms into a vast predatory bird, with long, sharp blades on its back and wings in lieu of actual feathers, and repulsors in the wings to aid in flight.

Weapons: In beast mode, Carrion can deploy tendrils from his mouth to drain the energon out of a foe. He can deploy similar devices from his fingers and wrists in robot mode.

Bio: Eukaris is unique among the cybertronian worlds in that the planet is not ruled by a single governing body; the world is divided into territories that each recognize their own ruler. These bots regularly convene in a council in the Steel Shard Mountains, and use an intermediary to convey their collective will to the rest of the Imperium of Cybertron. Carrion is this intermediary, and he resents the lack of power his position holds. He is but a mouthpiece for the chieftains, with little authority of his own, and while he’d never admit it, he yearns to have more of a say in things.

Flux- Muto

Name: Flux

Homeworld: Muto

Subtype: Shifter

Appearance: Flux’s “default” robot mode is a sixteen foot tall humanoid robot with red armor, a round head and a grey, mouthless face with two green eyes. As a Shifter, though, he can change is form at a whim, and often makes small adjustments to his figure depending on his mood.

Alt-modes: various. As a Shifter, Flux can reshape his body as he sees fit, and can draw from a reserve of mass in a pocket dimension to change his size.

Weapons: various. Flux also wields the Scythe of Amalgamous Prime.

Bio: Flux’s personality and demeanor change with the wind, much like how the metal continents of his planet constantly shift and change shape around each other. One moment, he can be laid-back and friendly, and stern and authoritative the next. Beneath his inconsistent mood swings, though, is a dependable moral compass which points him firmly toward righteousness. One can always count on him to do the right thing, even if they can’t predict exactly how he’ll do it.

Yggdrasil- Spirabilis

Name: Yggdrasil

Homeworld: Spirabilis

Subtype: Titan, Techno-organic

Appearance: Yggdrasil is a hunch-backed titan with short, stocky legs, stubby feet, a massive torso and arms, and blocky, four-fingered hands; humans might equate her silhouette to that of a golem or troll. Her armor is a rusty brown, but much of it is covered by the blocky, white, marble-like substance that forms Spirabilis’s surface. Yggdrasil’s head resembles a large boulder, with round blue eyes and a circular crest on her forehead. Patches of red grass adorn her shoulders, and webs of crimson creepers hang off her. A great biomechanical tree grows out of her back, and beneath its roots is a glowing Well of Sparks that produces bird-like mechanimals and insecticons.

Alt-mode: Yggdrasil transforms into a towering spire of rock and metal, with her tree and Well at its top, and many caves and tunnels winding throughout. Antigravity repulsors are built into the bottom of the spire, allowing it to hover above the ground and move.

Weapons: none. As a titan- and a giant even for them- Yggdrasil is immensely strong and virtually immune to conventional weapons.

Bio: In spite of her might, Yggdrasil is a gentle giant. All life is precious to her, from her fellow cybertronians to humans to the insects on her back. The lumbering giant is old, even by cybertronian standards, but rarely speaks, imparting her wisdom only to those who have earned her trust and friendship.

Rampart- Bellator

Name: Rampart

Homeworld: Bellator

Subtype: Triple-changer.

Alt-modes: a cybertronian tank and fighter jet

Appearance: Standing at roughly thirty-two feet tall in robot mode, Rampart’s legs are formed from black tank treads and the engines of her fighter jet mode. The main body of the tank forms her torso, while the jet’s fuselage splits apart to form her arms. Her armor is grey and bronze, forming a heavy mantle atop her shoulders and around her neck. A wide black cape falls from this mantle over her back, with the sigil of Megatronus emblazoned in red on its center.

Weapons: Rampart’s tank form is crowned with a three-barreled cannon on its main turret, which fires rockets which break apart into cluster bombs to blanket a battlefield in plasma explosions. Affixed to the main turret is a smaller machine gun. In her fighter jet mode, Rampart has access to plasma guns built on either side of the cockpit, and a supply of missiles stowed beneath her wings.

In her robot mode, Rampart has a fusion cannon mounted on her right arm, with the machine gun from her tank form attached to its frame. She also wields a gigantic double-headed axe, its blades made from magnetically-contained plasma.

Bio: In Bellator’s military hierarchy, generals are given the honor of commanding one of the planet’s city-states. Above these distinguished leaders presides a Praetor, one who as proven their worth through long and exemplary service to the planet, its people, and the memory of Megatronus. Rampart is the current Praetor of Bellator, a peerless warrior as ruthless as the winter storms of her home planet. Like most bellatorans, she has little compassion for evil-doers and does not exercise restraint against such characters when in battle; those on her good side, however, can know her to be rather cordial.

Optimus Prime- Trecedim

Name: Optimus Prime

Homeworld: Cybertron

Appearance: Optimus Prime is eighteen feet tall, and resembles the Lost Age protoform toy that released back in 2014:

Optimus also wears a tattered grey cloak over his upper body, along with long strips of cloth wrapped around his torso and limbs.

Alt-mode: none.

Weapons: Optimus carries an energon battle axe that he’s had with him since before the Golden Age:

Abilities: Optimus Prime’s life-force has long been merged with the supernatural energies of Trecedim, which has granted him near-immortality and a connection to the Allspark, along with many other powers. The scope of his abilities is unknown, with many under the belief that Optimus may be, in a sense, a physical god.

Bio: The last of the original Primes created by Primus, Optimus was smaller and weaker than his comrades. But what he lacked in physical might, he more than made up for with his vast insight and unwavering moral compass. Historians credit him with bringing the Thirteen together in their war against Unicron, and while the others may have been great warriors and scientists, Optimus was a natural leader. As the first bearer of the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus set the standard for what a Prime should be; and in the eons since the First Golden Age, over 1300 successive Matrix-bearers have striven to live by his example.

After the War of the Primes, Primus granted Optimus immortality, and appointed him to be Trecedim’s guardian. With his life-force bound to the moon’s energies, Optimus is unable to leave unless under the most extraordinary circumstances. He has friends in Liege Maximo and Beta Maxx, who visit when they can and keep him informed as to the state of the galaxy; and there are others who make pilgrimages to Trecedim to seek his wise counsel.

Emilia Thi Dang - Earth

Name: Emilia Thi Dang

Homeworld: Earth

Age: 110 years

Description: Emilia is a human woman of Vietnamese and German ancestry. She is 5’10", her eyes are blue, and she wears her hair cut short. Her nose is somewhat misshapen- it was broken in a fight years ago, and it never healed properly. She typically wears a black suit and tie, and small gold ear piercings.

Weapons and equipment: Emilia owns a 9mm sidearm for self-defense, though her security detail usually discourages her from carrying it on her person. She also tends to wear a harness beneath her clothes that’s capable of producing a rudimentary energy shield, so as to protect her from any potential attempts on her life. So far, no aspiring assassins have tried their luck there.

Bio: Emilia Thi Dang has been the President of the Sol Conservative for the last five years. She entered politics thirty years ago following the conclusion of an exemplary career in the Earth Planetary Militia, winning the favor of the people through her keen mind and decisive leadership. She is a down-to-Earth woman who has taken care to not let frivolous politicking interfere with her obligation to the well-being of the Sol system, which has been a welcome change from the previous administration. It is unknown at this time whether or not she’ll seek re-election next year, but there are certainly a great many who hope that she does.
