Transformers: Twilight of the Golden Age Part II

“Try to rest and warm up.” Seraphicon said, “You deserve a rest from what just happened.”

He looks at the lake, trying to figure out how to get the Star Saber out of its cold waters.

“That it is,” confirms a pleasant female voice.

From the depths of the lake rises a glowing figure, her body almost seeming to be comprised of pure light. Still, it was difficult to tell if she was “real”, or simply an advanced hologram of some kind.

“Aw jeez,” Bootleg groans, “the final boss…”

“Claiming the Star Saber is not a test of strength or weapons, small one-” she begins to speak.

" 'Ey! I take great offense to that, I’ll have ya know!"

“T-t-then what I-I-is it?”
Maximus asked. Using a plasma bolt, he lit the pile of wood on fire and curled close around it.

Seraphicon gently shushes Bootleg, “I trust she meant no offense.” He said.

The Angelicon faces the lady from the lake (Cybertronain Nimiue(?)), “What must we do to be deemed worthy to carry the Star Saber, ma’am?” He asked, kneeling on one knee respectfully before her on the lakeshore, wings spread out like a cape as he bowed his head.

For Angelicons, this was a sign of deep respect and reverence towards another.

“As I was about to say,” the conjux of Prima resumes, looking at Bootleg, before turning her attention back to the rest.

“…claiming the Star Saber is, in the end, not a test of weapons or strength but of character.”

Turning back to the lake, she raises her left arm. At the same time, a long, elegant blade rises from its’ center, hovering just barely above the water, blade-down:

“If be you of a pure spark and of noble intent, then you may cross the water and retrieve what then is yours to claim.”

Ironclad couldn’t help but relate some of what he was seeing to elements of Terran myth- it was to similar to be a mere coincidence. Bootleg thought much the same.

Prime Directive be d*mned…

Seraphicon rises, takes a deep breath and steps out, praying his heart was pure and intent noble. He decides to shed his armor and weapons, seeing little need for them in this.

They fly off the Angelicon and assemble into the trailer/locker on the shore to await its owner’s call.

OOC: GTG.

“Alright. Lets do this.”
Axis said, stepping forward.

Maximus watched her, content by his fire.

To the both of them, the water feels refreshingly chill and… surprisingly firm, though still retaining its’ fluid shape. They could stand at, at the moment, walk atop it.

Razorwing and Ironclad found that they could do the same.

“Hey, don’t mind me while my sparkling personality allows me to break the laws of physics…” the minicon Knight jests.

“Yeah, I ain’t even gonna try,” concedes Bootleg.

Maximus only watched on from the fire.

Axis walked towards the blade, trying desperately not to look down.

For the moment, the water supported Axis as she walked. Slowly, Ironclad and Razorwing tread beside her. Shortly, however, frost begins to form on the Minicon’s feet, and he has to turn back.

Piston transforms into walker mode and climbs up the mountain, following Firestorm.

Axis continued forward, undeterred.

As the Shield team reach the mountain, the Driller curiously backs off.

Before long, Axis reaches the center of the lake.

Though it was impossibly ancient, older than the lake on which it stood, the Star Saber looked as though it had just come from Primus’ ethereal forge the day before. Miraculously, it’s long, silver, ornate blade was polished to a mirror-like shine, bearing no rust or grime, and the yellow detailing in the dark grey hilt had not faded from the millions of years that the sword must have spent at the bottom of the lake. The last deep-orange rays of the setting sun gleam off the blade’s edge, etched with complex cyberglyphs proclaiming that only a worthy soul could wield it’s cosmic power. The Star Saber seemed to radiate a faint, pale-blue light of it’s own as it hovered before those assembled, it’s razor-sharp point just barely touching the calm blue water.

“You have been deemed worthy of the unequaled might of the Star Saber,” the lady of the lake spoke. “The blade is now yours to claim. Take it; and may it serve you well.”

Ironclad slowly slides his finger down the length of the blade, his expression one of awe and reverence. He steps away from the sword, takes a deep breath and slowly releases it.

“So,” he says, “Who wants to do the honors?”

Boston’s cockpit rotates back towards re driller worm, then back to the mountain. He continues climbing, all of his legs carrying him up the mountain.

Without hesitation, Axis grabbed the handle of the blade and held it above her head. Though she said nothing.

The Star Saber emits an indescribable, ethereal sound as its’ blade glows a magnificent blue, casting Axis and all near her in its’ light. Wisps of cosmic energy curl off the blade, which felt feather-light, and perfectly balanced in Axis’ grasp.

Axis stood silently. Every possible emotion racing through her mind, and yet at the same time she was completely calm. Every legend she had ever known. Every story, every tale. She was living it all. Truly realize what she had become a part of. To herself she vowed to see her mission through, no matter what possible challenges lie ahead. Slowly she walked to the shore of the lake.

The luminous figure smiles and retreats into the lake. From the treeline, the legion of sentinels raise their weapons in salute.

“Congrats,” Razorwing compliments. “Seriously, it’s not just anybody who can wield that thing.”
