Presumably randomness only works if there is some aspect of life that should be taken seriously, which it is not. Such as, you know, a tongue.

if you generated an infinite plane with this noise stretching out infinitely in every direction, you would find the funniest comic to ever possibly exist (and also every picture to ever possibly exist in every resolution to ever possibly exist). As it stands, this comic was not from one of those regions of the plane.
