Gotta say, this doesn’t even look that bad…
Like an American football player, almost. I’m guessing this was unintentional?
Though, with how cool that end product is I may give this a try…
Fits perfectly with those 2000s hockey sets now lol
Use one of the Brain Attack heads to give him a new face.
poor tool rack :(
Saw someone mention a disintegrating black Technic pin near the start of the topic and it jogged a memory. Firstbourne is one of my favorite Ninjago dragons, but once I bumped into her front left wing “finger” and the pin holding it onto the wing sheared clean in half with no warning, right along that ridge that separates the two halves of the pin. I’ve never had that happen before or since.
Edit: Also, I was taking apart my Legacy Golden Dragon and a Mixel socket literally snapped in half, as in the socket portion broke and half of it went flying across the room. Oddly, I think another socket on the same set is cracked, and I’ve got a couple of other Mixel sockets on other sets that are in similar shape. Nearest I can figure is, it’s because of how I used to disassemble those connections.
baboon abuses his joints, confirmed
That’s a very odd breakage with Firstbourne, how hard was the bump?
Not very. I literally just brushed against the wing.
This certainly wasn’t on my list of things I expected (or wanted) to ever happen.
I’ll see about opening it up, perhaps it’s fixable… Luckily it’s “just” an M motor (still a loss, but this happening with a servo for example would be far worse).
I’ve got at least one, possibly two Cordak blasters lying around somewhere that arrived from eBay with the ball joint completely snapped off flush with the housing. Weirdest part is, they were the same eBay lot, and that same lot also had two or three Matoro Mahri claws with the axle snapped off.
The evil Axle-Snatcher strikes again!
Any rare color of technic connector cracking along the slit at the top. So aggravating. Also, anyone else notice G2 Onua’s Giant Claw/Hammer parts usually crack on the sides?
I have four of these in black, all of them did this in rapid succession. I know the 2008 sockets are bad, but this is just ridiculous…
At the very least they can still hold onto a ball, albeit with less friction.
2008-2010 joints are pure buns
My Toa Ignika’s joints snapped right out of the box. In 2009. Twice.
Those squared off joints are awful.
That reminds me, one of the first Bionicle pieces I remember ever owning was a Zadakh staff that’d had both of its axles snapped off. I don’t even know how that would’ve happened.
That reminds me of a review I saw of one of the Minecraft Micro World sets where the guy reviewing it mentioned that even though he’d opened it sealed, every single 1x1 dark green tile he attached cracked in half diagonally almost immediately. Do you know how old that particular piece is?
