One thing that has been essential to BIONICLE’s timeline is the years lived of the Matoran Universe’s beings, often getting into thousands of years. So my question is: what is the standard for these years? Is it based off the rotational period of a specific planet (like Spherus Magna)?

I don’t remember if we ever codified it, but I always thought of it as an Earth year just for simplicity’s sake. I was, after all, writing for 8-9 year olds who might not know yet about different worlds have different lengths of year.
