im not sure but i dont what do you guys think
Edited Title.
~Legomaster- Er I mean Chronicler
From what I’ve seen, not so far. Maybe it will?
Right now it looks pretty sweet.
Define “suck”
Also, would you mind being a little more… Detailed and thorough with your initial post?
like a pile of crap
What makes you think it will though…? What did you think of 2015?
it was a hit and miss
First, be more specific
Second, use better grammar
Third, spell correctly
Fourth, why would it suck? We’re getting graphic novels, Terak, Netflix, original books, Terak, amazing combiners, Terak, functions on every set this wave, an intriguing environment, a completely awesome villain (who we know is getting an upgrade), and finally, arguably the best set ever… Terak.
ok i get it
Huh? It’s through text so I can’t exactly tell if you mean that in an offended way or in an understanding way…
Although I’m gonna go with offended considering that capitalization is still nonexistant
i understand
I don’t think it will “suck” in fact from what I’ve seen it looks pretty good.
That being said there are some design choices I don’t agree with. The miss-matched textures and odd color schemes are flaws in my eyes. Bionicle at its best combined simple geometric shapes with purposeful detail, something I think the 2015 Toa did better than their Uniter counterparts.
The Creatures are great, Umarak is great, the Toa are alright, and the combos are amazing.
Add in more media content and I think we’ve got a good year.
yea i agree the toa are meh
I honestly think the different textures work pretty well together. Maybe not as totally cohesive armor, but they definitely make the sets more unique.
…Pohatu we’re all looking at you here.
But besides him, which schemes do you find odd? Most of them aren’t too crazy as far as I remember.
I say it depends on the TV show and story, as the sets look great to me.
@Mayple It’s more of a problem with the larger Toa (and really its just Kopaka and Tahu). Looking at them its a little difficult to see what the wanted to be. Tahu goes for a jagged look, but he has a lot of smoothness on him that breaks it up such as the Technic Shell, the piston addon, and the bare shells. In fact the detailed parts on his legs and torso clash with his smooth arms.
Kopaka just sorta shoehorns in the crystal addons on his thighs, so the whole crystal aesthetic for him is almost non-existent. The icicle shoulders from his Master prototype would havr been great here.
And while we’re on them I’ll mention that when the crystal addon and Technic shell are placed close together it doesn’t look good in my eyes. Now if they were attached I think it would be a different story because then we would be using the crystal addon to its full use as a transitional piece.
Really the better examples of mixing the aesthetics is to look at the creatures. They pull it off perfectly.
As for odd colorschemes there’s obviously Pohatu and then we go to more subjective territory with Kopaka who follow after Pohatu, and Tahu and Lewa’s overabundance of metalics.
I think with the ccbs system, there’s not really a good way to fix that, unless you go shell overload, but I do see what you mean. If he didn’t have those skull warrior shells, he would probably look much more cohesive honestly.
And with Kopaka, I did a bit of photoshop on my other computer, and if you just put on two white piston shells on his arms, he looks soooooo much better. It’s a shame they couldn’t add those on to the actual set.
Moving on, I agree on the crystal kneepads looking shoved on though, they really don’t look good on him unless he’s got Mellum on his back, which makes me think he should have kept the pauldrons from last year and had Mellum give him a different armor type. Also, the icicle shoulders? Could you send a picture of that, I’m interested.

Maybe put more depth or be more precise about the topic

I think that bionicle generation 2 has improved, but hasn’t found that sweet spot of complexity and simplicity
How I wish I could qoute on mobile.
Anyway, I think the Skull Cloth addons should have been the Vorox armor in gold. That or they put some sort of jagged texture on his arms like the crystal addon, fur addon, that-savage-planet-addon-that-looks-like-horshoe-crab, horns, chima wings placed sideways, etc.
Here’s the prototype pic: BZPower on Instagram: "#Bionicle #BrickFair #BFNJ"
I miss that HF addon they used on Tahu. I hope it makes a reappearance.
Anyway Proto-Kopaka looks like he’s got icicles hanging off his shoulders, which is a concept I’d like to see developed eventually. I think that’s what they wanted Melum to do, and it sorta worked.
Set-wise: no.
Story-wise: possibly.
I mean, the story could just be
Ekimu sends Toa to find creatures and golden masks that will give them more elemental power, Umarak wants the creatures too and has the Mask of Control for no explained reason, the creatures backstory is never explained, Umarak is an idiot, the Toa defeat him but he escapes with the MoCo.
