I have more than enough canisters right now, so probably not.

I recently found a drawer in my workbench full of canisters. It was a nice find, and I felt nostalgic looking at them.

I gave lots of my old canister to dad, who stores nails, screws, and other stuff in them.

I miss the Suva and nothing else

Aye mate, I have a collection of them. The way LEGO used the packaging as part of the story was genius. Then 2007 canisters happened, RIP. Even then, I still loved them though. They will be missed.

Indeed. I miss the good o’l Canisters from back in the day. I remember using them to build houses for my matoran and toa when I was younger. I still have them all in a box.

Nope.

Why will you not miss them

I never used them for storing sets, and they just took up space.

Meh, I never really used them except planning to store my sets in them in the future.

Eh, not really. I liked how the originals had functions for the set, but after 2004 they were only there out of tradition and couldn’t contain built sets without taking them back apart. Kind of a waste of plastic cost.

I never liked them after 2004 when I felt like they became a waste of space for me. I liked them as I could store them into the canisters. I just feel like they had no use from 2005-2009 I know many will disagree but it became a waste of space for me and a waste of money for lego. The only way I would like them back in Bionicle is if they had a function and can be used for storage like in the old days.

I always thought that while they were cool, they were also took up a lot of space and became kind of useless after 2004, because with those you could at least use the lids to make matoran spheres, sono, I wont miss them

I will miss the canisters because I would use them for part storage and they did that job really goof st least better than the HF bags.

Yes, I will miss the canisters greatly. They were a great way to store the sets and at least in the way I stored the canisters they where easy to take out and use frequently. What I did was I took a large shoe storage… thing and hung it from my wall. The canisters fit in there perfectly. I couldn’t do this for the “box-like” canisters though, like the Inika and Mistika.

So
let me talk about this

one of my biggest regrets* was letting my parents throw the canisters away, I can never know how many sets I actually own, and all that
Specifically the nuva and 03 sets in general
The reason is because I dont know what 03 sets I have
But at the same time
As creative as some of these things were, they were really crap after 07
and boring
02-03 had the suvas
04-05 h- I actually forget what these guys had
And 06 has my favourite
which were the light up swords to test out, and the zamor spheres, and the piraka had those cool plastic things
07 was interesting, because they used that plastic around the box that you could take off, I thought it was cool
the only special things from the rest of the years were the lids

but
The canisters were admittably useless for storage imho
you could fit only one figure in there, its better to just get a giant box, and put all your parts in there

So, I thought they were cool, but took up space, and were more or less useless
keep in mind that this is my opinion, please dont reply with “THEY WERE USEFUL” or anything like that

04 had the lids that turned into Matoran Pods.

05 had that thing with the Visorak but the Hordika were boring IIRC

Inika build ruined the canister thing . granted it started in 2005 (though 2005 is the year that was a bridge between that build). One more reason why the Inika build was a net negative.

No, that was a selling gimmick as oppose to the previous canisters that had some story implementation.
