@DuneToa You have no idea how close I came to doing something like that. Though if I was known for tan over my beloved orange, it would be a sad legacy.
But thanks!
@Ghid Thanks! Did quite a bit of keyword searching through Bricklink until I found that. I’m just glad there was something which worked because I have no idea what I would build as a token otherwise.
Hey, we subsidize some expenses via tax returns…Wait, no, the tax returns were used as the prize money for my contest. All I’m saying is that my boss owes me. ![]()
@Minethuselah Thanks! As I’ve said in the Technic topic, I feel Technic is still so largely untapped. Plenty of others are pushing Technic in terms of functions and form. Not as many in an artistic sense and certainly not in large scale display senses. Someone has to do it, might as well be me. I’d love to run, but if it means advancing Technic to new fronts I’ll do the walking for future builders.
After all, in the abstract, what is really different between System and Technic? At their core, both are building systems about stacking. Technic just so happens to be more about stacking sideways and needs pins than System, which is stacking vertically and has all connective elements molded-in. If true, the only way to find out is to run tests.
@Zhyndea Thanks! The amount of people who loved the lava flow caught me off guard. It was the simplest part of the volcano’s construction, so it wasn’t that special to me. But that sold the Technic environment much more than many other portions. Probably because the transparent Technic beams are, evidently, unknown. Good thing I bought so many Lord of Skull Spiders back in the day.
@Rukah Thanks!
@TheJerminator What Ghid said. Though in addition, my profile picture is based on the Eyebots from Junkbot, just enraged because they spotted Junkbot.
You can see one of the tokens I left in this video:
Though as an additional example, these are all the little tokens and other gifts I got this year.
Not pictured here, but I got the Exo-Force brick for the Blotted Sapper I built for that Exo-Force contest. You might notice that my mech is not in the picture among my display items. That’s because…
He was busy existing in the Exo-Force collab display! The prize was being remade physically and added to the collab display at Brickworld. And since I was already going there, I brought him along as a way to introduce myself. They were kind enough to add him into the display. Lovely chap.
