YouTube being Dysfunctional

For the past like year I’ve used YouTube on my phone it’s always been kind of broken however it usually wasn’t that bad and was useable with only occasional glitching and saying that was wasn’t connected to the internet even though I had a full connection but lately it’s been getting worse and sometimes barely useable so I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue of YouTube being the most unstable website ever or if you found a way to fix it.

These are some of the problems that it has:

Not letting me do anything at all.

Randomly reloading the page and restarting the video.

Replacing a video with an ad

Saying I’m not connected to the internet when I am

Changing the mobile display to desktop display randomly.

Etc

My phone sometimes does this, but rarely. Are you using the app or do you visit YouTube through your browser? Also, what phone do you have and how old is it?

I’ve had similar things to these happen. The reloading usually happens when I leave the app and then come back in, although it doesn’t restart the video, it completely leaves it. The freezing thing happens more regularly, but it only occurs sometimes after watching a short, and it’s very annoying.

No way to fix it really, other than just occasionally restarting the app.

I find YouTube works well enough on desktop. It’s the mobile version that seems a tad unstable.

I often had issues with Shorts freezing or stuttering, sometimes I can hear the audio but the video won’t play.

I also have encountered the issue where it will completely restart your video or just take you out of it entirely, but like @T4k4nuv4 said, that’s usually only if I’m in Picture-in-Picture mode or I tab out.

A lot of the freezing issues went away when I got a new phone, so maybe its a hardware issue. Can’t be sure.

I’m using the website, but it was working okay for a while up until now. I have a pretty new phone and my internet doesn’t have issues when I use other things.

Sometimes when it starts acting up I close the tab and open another which helps a little but that’s it
