Edward took little notice of the rock and moved around it.
Frostvin examined the rock and walked in a circle around it, and drew it. “Hmm… interesting details.” He labeled the sketch, “Weird Rock in the Middle of the Road”
“really?”
Frostvin looked up. “What? It’s a weird rock. in the middle of the road. What am I supposed to call it, Dacite? granite?”
“a rock, they’re gonna start getting bigger soon,” he he replied, the cart kept moving
Saras hopped out and examined it. “But why is it in the middle of the road?” He asked. “How likely is a rockslide?”
“good point,” muttered Oliver
“Maybe it got up and walked there.”
Edward said sarcastically.
“Maybe the next one will walk into your skull if we’re lucky.” Isadau calls from the cart.
Saras just rolls his eyes. “Someone could have put it there as a way to stop or block people, or a rockslide happened and might happen again.” He explained his reasoning.

“it wouldn’t be to stop someone, it’s not that large.”
“And if it were a rock slide there would be more than one.”
“Maybe to make them stop and confuse travelers.” He said, gesturing to the group. “And single rocks can fall as well. It could be a sign of poor structural stability, which could lead to actual rock slides if we aren’t careful.”
“yeah, let’s get going,” muttered Oliver, restarting the cart

Edward continued forward, reading a book about dragons he bought at the bookstore in the village.
Pulled by curiosity, Beta ran back to investigate the strange rock, tapping it gently.

The rock explodes with a brite flash of light, Brite enough to temporarily blind anyone who happened to be looking in it’s general direction. While knocking anyone right next to the rock roughly ten feet back, while knocking over the cart
Beta was thrown back, rolling right up to Edward’s feet, screaming all the way.
“What did you do!”
Edward shouted, half in anger and half in worry for Beta.
Frostvin immediately froze the spot where the rock exploded. “Bad! Enemy! Danger!” He sputtered.
This ice magic doesn’t have much of an effect, while the stone begins to emit a gasses substance

Edward said as he hastily grabbed his companions and Reginald’s lead, and ran ahead on the trail.
With all the noise and the flash of light, the cow made no objections to running away.
