I distinct relative to the blue scarabax beetle the blue bellied golden scarabax evolved for life in and around the sand sea, developing short flat legs to allow it to walk on the sand and camouflage to hide from predators.
This camouflage is where the creature gets its name, as it is a dusty gold from above, yet a vibrant sky blue from below, this beautiful carapace has led some wealthy agori to keep them as pets.
What immediately stands out to me is how well the colors go together. The gold and Carapar-brown compliment the trans blue very well. I also like the way they’re distributed; it effectively conveys the creatures camouflage.
