As the man I knew as Kahi looked at me, I couldn’t help but feel… proud, and strangely sad. This man had lost his attorney badge, and mine was, frankly, a sham. I wasn’t half the attorney he was, but I could only do one thing in this situation.
“Thanks.” I said gravely, as if this may be the last time I stood here in this courtroom. The smell of cigarette smoke and cheap perfume permeated the air, and for once it didn’t sicken me. This courtroom had become my home, flawed as it was.

The whole trial was riddled with lies, inconsistencies, and falsehoods. I can see why you had to withhold evidence and play dirty to win.
