I pulled my recorder out a few months ago. Learned how to play some of the accidental notes that I was never taught how to play.

I’ve considered doing that before, but considering that the one that I have is a cheap plastic thing from elementary school, it doesn’t sound very nice.

Perhaps, but by the most pedantic of pedantry the title of the topic is do you play an instrument. So if you don’t play it, doesn’t count.
