When Akamai and Wairuha formed, they were instantly familiar with each other and knew each other’s names, in spite of only Kopaka and Gali being familiar with them beforehand. Does this mean that the entities that were the Kaita existed prior to the Toa forming them, or…?

I think there had to be some base programming with regard to the Kaita so that when they came into existence there would be recognition. Otherwise, they might wind up fighting each other.

So, the Kaita are programmed beforehand? or is there some sort of memory in the GSR of all possible Kaita?
On that note, is there a finite number of Kaita entities in the GSR? For instance, if Matoro, Hahli, and Kongu formed a Kaita, would it be Wairuha?

All Toa have the capacity to form into Kaita. The combination of three Toa also results in a new Kanohi, which contains the powers of all three Kanohi used in the formation. Each Toa Kaita is a separate entity from the next, and each is bestowed a unique name and title.
