I’m not familiar with many of the obscure characters in TLBM but I’m looking forward to the Egghead Mech as I like Egghead from the 1960’s Classic TV series.
The LEGO Movie line did have a brief 2015 wave that consisted of these three sets, and I don’t think any of them were really needed.
Honestly, I only knew the Double-Decker couch set existed. I thought it came out with Emmet’s Mech and the Dropship. Well I did remember the angry Unikitty set but I completely forgot it. Anyways these sets are a little bit more calmer but yes, sort of unnecessary. I say sort of because they were pretty much minifigure packs with figures you might want (except the Car Chase one, that doesn’t get a pass).
As for @Hutere, it was good that we got those obscure villains, but they weren’t used as well as I thought. Even at the end of the movie you just see several minifigures rampaging who then pretty much become background characters once again. I think it’s pretty good that we are getting these guys in sets, but the way they are released I don’t like. If I want Mutant Leader I don’t wanna buy Bane’s generic truck. They could’ve given him something better like Killer Croc’s modified pickup but it was a generic shooter-truck. There are some very good sets but the later sets being released just mostly don’t look like good ones. We’ve already seen Harley’s Truck in a book and that’s nothing new (unless that cannon actually does shoot minifigs) and Egghead’s Mech is meh. My true problem is how much the villains were underused/not used properly and how most of the recent sets aren’t that good.
Also I don’t like Penguin’s car because the front lights look out of place or not put in properly, in fact, the entire front just looks ugly. The black part right on the sides in front of the cab above the start of the balloon piece curve also looks sort of empty or out of place. Feels like it’s unfinished.
This set retail for $269.99 USD and has the highest piece count in the series above The Ultimate Batmobile and Arkham Asylumcombined (1456pc+1628pc= 3084pc).
The only complaint I have with this set atm is the minifigure selection, while the timeline is mixed with a quarter-ending of the movie form the white suits, it only heavily focus on the main characters (which makes scene) but about 4 of the figures are reused prints, but hey, the price seems fair considering and seems to be a great play/display set ,plus were likely no going to see these figures again after 2019. (Your hear that UCMF?)
I really like those roller coaster elements and I hope to see them in a dedicated roller coaster set to go with the ferris wheel and Fairground Mixer. The set has some really neat details, but the amount of large sets that LEGO has put out this year is downright disturbing.
As for the others, the wonder Twins look cool, I like Black Vulcan and Apache Chief,(Even if i only know them from a dumb Adult Swim parody) and I also really like the Killer Moth one. The rest are meh.
