For once I think the sequel was better.

Thatā€™s arguable.

The plot and characters were more interesting, but on the same token I felt like the effects ended up being more dated and that sorta choked it a bit.

I like 'em both a lot though.

great action movie. Amazing sequel

But the practical effects in aliens still hold upā€¦ and the main character was a female

@Calebmar12 actually the first Alien movie more likely ends up in the Thriller/Horror genre, the sequels fit more with action movies.

Highlander Swap Force?

Right now Iā€™m attempting to watch as many action movies as possible, so far Iā€™ve watched Predator, The Matrix, The One, Walking Tall, Die Hard, Soldier, and a few others.
The only one I canā€™t recommend is Walking tall.

Nope. There have been quite a few (mostly terrible) spinoffs, though.
